is a shallow writer who writes decently entertaining books thats all. He should be happy that the trio of Hirani, Aamir and VVC converted such a shabby book into an excellent movie. Instead we have him hankering after more publicity. They bought the rights and also specified in the contract that his name will be shown in rolling credits and it is shown. What more does he want ?

Dont write stuff if u dont know much about it, 5 point someone is a good book and Chetan Bhagat doesnot require chep publicity well in that case he could have created a controversy when One Night at a call centre was released

With due regards,y do u thnk d book ws foolish?? Just because long and difficult words were not used in it?? or it lacked a display of scintillating english?? It was book full of reality and real life situations.Teenagers of today dont speak in hifi english, they use a lot of swear and funky words and thatis how the book is presented and maybe that's why u didn like it. You can easily say that it has no story,it is just some incidents occuring around some people. Well, there must have been many incidents around you too?? Whyd ont you try to write them down and become a famous writerlike Chetan Bhagat.

book has no plot and no message, it is more like a series of diary entries. Whereas the film has a core plot and a very good message which it tells in a very entertaining way and rather unbollywood style

Kumar Venkat, Azmat Khan, Chetan Shah, Ramen Das - Kudos folks
And Amitabh – here’s something for you to chew on – you have correctly stated “good writing” is not about “long and difficult words or scintillating English”, However, irrespective of any point of view one looks at FPS from – it is very ordinary “pulp fiction”.
So, before you start expounding on the merits of FPS perhaps you should take off your blinkers and look at the amazing world of literature which is out there which is written in very simple language This is not personal about you– it is about your seeming lack of information and awareness.

i am really surprised guys, that if one gets a platform to express one's view, people so liberally use it.Venkat! it hardly seems that you've read the book, it feels u've actually been through Bhagat's original diary so hold such a view.Pls before replying, go through it once again and you will hail Amitabh.
what surprises me is that u still haven't watched 3 idiots..i don't think anyone is left to watch this movie...anyways i can understand yr feeling now that SRK will have a tough time to beat 3I record...cry baby cry..
till yesterday he thought that being a big star he will automatically get public support. so he was behaving as if he is the ultimate king. look at how patronizingly he talked either of abhijat or chetan.
now that he has sensed that public doesn't give a damn to his self proclaimed start value this creepy stinky amir khan is trying to backtrack. just wait for a few days till he completely reverses his position all the while claiming that he hasn't done so.
so dishonest ... i do not want to watch any more movies of this fellow. i planned to watch 3 idiots with so much anticipation. now i think i will give movie a miss. i will watch it but only after downloading from torrents.
shame on amir. he has finally proved that entire bollywood is sleazy

I'd rather wait for the movie to be available on torrent rather than watch it in theatre. This is also my way of proving the point that 3 idiot is copied from FPS

They are feeling the pain of this movie reaching the skies..the movie has just touched 114 crore in 10days in india and continuing...SRK and his fans are having sleepless nights ...mnik is going to sink badly ..reason just another terriost movie.
Tell you what... I have read the book, and it is simply idiotic. This guy Chetan Bhagat simply got lucky with a silly book that is now being masqueraded as a classic. Come on, we have better books to discuss, let this issue die now forever. It does not merit any discussion and does not deserve it. I have not seen the movie, but on the book, the jury is out...foolishly.

some people come up with such excuses 2 defend pulp fictions like FPS...but whatever is kitsch is kitsch....it is unfortunate that we Indians are perennially attarcted to mediocrity be it films or books...& this stupid controversy has mainly boosted FPS sales...
