Does Mr Bhagat even know what a contract is? He signed a contract with the producer regarding the use of 5 point storyline, he knew very well as to where and how his name would appear in the movie.. He did not object to it at the time of taking the money.. now once he realized that the film is a HIT..wants credit? The Question is not about how close the movie is to his book.. the point is he SOLD the rights.. now even if its 100% based on his book.. he cant complain because he has signed a contract and got money for it..

Selling the rights does not mean the buyer can publish the seller's book as buyer's own writing.
Thats what these cheats have done in their clamour for undeserved glory.
Is the movie based on 5 point someone or is the movie a completely new work done by Hirani & co.? If it is based on 5 point someone, then only a cheat will claim it comletely as his own.

wt money yaar 10 lakhs for a book like fps is nothing.CB's 1 month's salary what he used to get was much more than that so talk about stealing ideas and not acknowledging in the original story criteria.
i have lost respect for amir since TZP. he took the whole credit.wheres the greatness of amol.its called copying even if it is 0.1% of real story. why to market in the name of 5.someone then.
I dont know why this idiot sold his book for few lacs..I think that's what is bothering him.i can understand..looser....such a good movie and this looser is spoiling the fun...

What does Flop or hit has anything to do with plagiarism. The movie is clearly inspired by 5 point.. which was a path breaking novel. CB must get the credit.

Is that a way Raju & VVC should have given the credit. It seems you have not read the novel when it was published. I am an avid reader of books & I can tell you that CB has not only written a fantastic book he made a huge difference. Even many of my friends who have never read a book have by now read all the 4 books written by him. Is this the way to respect originality? Definitely not. These fools could not have written anything like this. Look at the way West treats the original writer. The problem is not with Raju/AMir but with the big psycho VVC who I beleive takes credit for anything good happened ever in Indian Film industry since the beginning.

Guys ..plzzz..just plzzz stop getting carried away. Even if we believe that the Hirani camp is morally incorrect in robbing off Bhagat's glory, we must realize that there was a contract.A damn contract! Chetan Bhagat read it. Got paid! Please understand! And by the way, whoever says Chetan Bhagat is a great author must try reading the works of R K Narayan Narayan, Khushwant Singh, Vikram Seth, Arundhati Roy. I find Bhagat's literary skills utterly mediocre!
And Amitabh – here’s something for you to chew on – you have correctly stated “good writing” is not about “long and difficult words or scintillating English”, However, irrespective of any point of view one looks at FPS from – it is very ordinary “pulp fiction”.
So, before you start expounding on the merits of FPS perhaps you should take off your blinkers and look at the amazing world of literature which is out there which is written in very simple language This is not personal about you – it is about your seeming lack of information and awareness.

Amir should apologise, or else he has lost all credibility. He showed his real face, where they picked on ahonest young underdog, stole his intellectual property and then abused him in the media. I feel so sorry for Chetan. He has been wronged and how!!!
