did the contract mention that credit for the story will not be given to chetan but will be given to people who write adaptation and screenplay.Aamir, raju, vidhu you lost a fan and an admirer.
I have read the book and seen the movie. The movie is majorly based on the book. The credit for story has to be given to Chetan even if Abhijat and Raju also take the crdie.Screenpla, adaptation credits can not go to chetan but at the same time his name can not be removed from the story credit.Amir, vidhu, raju please grow up and be men. They have definitely lost esteem in my eyes.

I agree with you. Vishal Bhardwaj bought the script for Kaminey from a student in Africa and changed the script to suit Indian audiences. Yet, VB gave credit to his student as the first thing in the movie!

Chetan Bahgat should change his name to Shaitaan Bhakt....he is an evil man..very very bad boy!
Amir Khan,hirani,vidhu(3 idiots)all 3 wud have been appreciated and respected...if they had gracefully accepted the truth....now i bet...amir had lost atleast 30% of the fans...including ppl like me
hah!!abhijit joshi was writing the script for the last 3 years....and still u call him a writer...r u joking...the movies is clean adaption of Five point something...anyone who have read the book know....and wat contract r dey talking abt...dat dey wud copy the book and won't say it outside....arent day shameless...wat for dey were angry....shame on the so called hirani joshi and vidhu...no matter how much the movie becomes a hit....i clearly written in deir conscience that it was not dere hardwork ...shameless ppl
They have exposed Vidhu Vinod,Hirani and amir's lies. India Today, whose correspondent read the book and saw the movie multiple times, has contented that the movie is 75% of the book. Vidhu Vinod Chopra even mentions himself as the associate story writer. India Today said these three are three idiots.
R.K. Narayan, in his biography had mentioned that he was very displeased with the way the producers had dealt with his original story. A lot had been changed for the sake of making the story more cinematic by Goldie Anand. However, what's noteworthy is that credit for the story had been given to R.K. Narayan... Moreover, the Filmfare Award for the best story, also went to R.K. Narayan. So, do we have a message here?
slumdog millionaire was based on Vikas Swarup's Q&A. but didnt Simon beaufoy get the writing credits and OScar????....abhijat desrves his role as a script writer. and chetan's name is already mentioned in the rolling credits!!!...as promised in contract!!

'Writing credits' is a very generic term, my friend. A screenplay is vastly different from a story. Simon got the Oscar for 'best adapted screenplay'... and not 'best original screenplay' which I guess went to Dusting Lance Black for 'Milk'(original screenplay is an award which has substituted best story since 1957.)
