ugly street fights in Kerala
by TingTongBaba on Mar 01, 2010 07:03 PM

Malayalam film industry, which once carved a niche for itself as an arena of supremely talented artistes and technicians, has now become a dirty mudslinging field. The controversy following the removal of thespian Thilakan from Mohanlal-starrer Christian Brothers has unfolded into a no-holds-barred slanging match involving writers and matinee idols in the state. To add fuel to the fire, fans associations too have hit the streets pledging solidarity with their stars and burning the effigies of those opposing them.

Really Not funny as Teen patti
by sandeep shrivastava on Mar 01, 2010 06:48 PM

We 4 friend started watching this movie on laptop at 10 PM and till 10:20 we decided let the movie continue but start our own teen patti with cards.
Movie can not be say worst, but not entertaining. thrilling and funny. It is difficult to keep your interest alive in this movie.
Better not to watch.
I have watched Shabd of same director, that too is one of the ever made bore movie.
I don't know how they get big actors in such movies.

right to make indian versions
by Rajesh Sarma on Mar 01, 2010 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

This movie and many such movies (probably)are for the scores of Indians who have either no access to English movies or cannot follow the English accent. Indian film audiances have a right to watch a variety of movies other than the typical love stories (srk types). I have not seen 21 as I do not understand English the way it is spoken in the West and there surely would be many people like me. I prefer to see it in Hindi as I understand Hindi better and the actors are more familiar. The point I wish to make is re-makes go a long way in breaking language barriers. Whether the remake is good or bad shoule be left to the audiance. Eg, many of the Bachchan movies of the '70s were remade in Tamil and acted by Rajnikanth. I am sure Tamil audiances prefer to watch Rajnikanth to Bachchan though the remakes were no where near the originals. Movies like Deewar, Trishul, Khoon Pasina, Laawaris, Namak Halal, Don, khuddar, HUM were remade in Tamil with Rajnikanth and were bigger hits than the originals in Hindi. Let us therefore leave it to the Indian masses (who do not follow English) to accept or reject a re-make.

ya.. but is sounds like bha1yaa logic. you know how they justify plagiarism, appropriate what is not theirs in the name of being Indian.

If u have read my write up carefully, I have mentioned that Bachchan movies of the '70s have been straigtaway lifted in South especially in TN and they have been greater hits. So how come you accuse only bhaiiyas of plagarism ? Plagarism is widely prevalant in India for ages now. Movies from South and West India have been copied in Hindi and vice-versa. Take for instance the Bachchan starer Aankhen of 2001 was a lift from the Gujarati play 'Andhado Phato' and if what I heard is right, this was remade in Hollywood.

Not a copy of 21
by Anwar Ali on Mar 01, 2010 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

Its totally a different movie from 21.
Only similarity is a mathematics professor gets some students to play blackjack and earn money.
But this movie has more than that.
Very good suspense.

People saying its a copy of 21 has either not seen it or they are simply srk, aamir fans.

Amitabh's acting is superb.
