Hundreds are queuing up outside the Liberty Cinema, in Colombo, to see the controversial Bollywood blockbuster, “My Name Is Khan”, starring Bollywood heavyweight and international film icon Shah Ruk Khan.
According to Liberty Cinema manager P. K. J. Perera, the film has broken records already at the theatre. “We have had our highest collection ever for a 3pm screening,” he said.
Film-goers queue up outside the Liberty Cinema, in Colombo yesterday to see “My Name Is Khan”.
The Indian-made, mostly America-set drama opened on Friday in India, the US and elsewhere. The film seems set to rewrite box office history, smashing international box office records for the highest ever opening day collections for a Hindi film worldwide, beating its closest competitor, the hit “3 Idiots”, by almost 30 per cent.
In the film, Khan plays an Indian Muslim suffering from Asperger’s syndrome whose life in the United States changes after the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks. The love interest centres on Khan’s involvement with a Hindu single mother.
There is a dignified way to disagree and protest something. These people have defeated the essence of democracy by being utterly shameless. Is this how you protest? By indulging in vandalism and disrespecting democracy? People like Bal Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray, and VHP leaders like Praveen Togadia and others should be arrested for causing unnecessary unrest and inciting hatred.
Let cinema theatre owners who were planning to show the film but is against our country's prosperity not show the film.... and let those who do not like United India, not see the film. This is what Thackeray really meant. Coz no Indian could support the ideology of Thackeray.
Why we are fighting and making BP high,its not good,just relax & enjoy Good saturday & sunday. World will be ending by 2012,so few more days to live,till than enjoy.

Shiv Sena or Goonda sena ? who are they ? A gang of disinformed fanatics,ruled by a cartoonist called Baaal thakeray who wants to make India a cartoon nation? SS is nurtured by Congress and supported by NCP simiiarly like Congress is making minorities fear about BJP and get their votes. If we are Indians and believes in our constitution we should go and watch this film not because we love SRK but to prove we are Indians and cant be ruled by terrorists, cartoonist who are nothing. There is ban for Baal thackeray to eneter Bangalore since past 20 years, let him dare enter Bangalore and show his cartoony guts? Can Shivsena apologise for being anti south Indians ? Can shivsena agree that no claims over Belgaum as part of maharashtra? Had shivsena done any constructive politics? in last 30 years. SS is perished and dead party still trying to fool innocent marathi manoos who at this time rejected Big Baaals happily and willingly. Next time we will have Baal's staue to be fired at Juhu beach. Long live Indians and patriots, hatts off to your guts and courage for going and watching movie and proving Baal a funky rat.

Mr.Chandy it is the BJP government in Karnataka and they will be onlt too obliged to welcome Bal there and nobody will do anything.HAHAAAA.Why u are bringing Migrant issue in to this, these are both two different things.People like u are still ready to lick the feet of SRK evn after he goes on saying "Pakistan is a grt neighbour,WE LOVE THEM IMMENSELY".Ask urself do you love them immensely even after all your brothers have been killed left,right and centre,if your answer is Yes then u r irreformable and are a fit case to be relocated to Pakistan with SRK.

He is always known for marketing his films effectively and MNIK got free publicity & attention he wanted for his movie. He might be getting a big laugh out of all this. He has to thank the Media & politicians who marketed aggressively for him, which has become a top priority than focusing on genuine causes.
