I am a srk fan but after watching this movie I am very disappointed. SRK has done lots of overacting and nothing is new in the movie. Never saw boring movie than this. Theatre was full only 25%. Keep your money for something better.

Despite having a limited release in Maharashtra, Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, MNIK's worldwide box office collections are estimated at Rs. 25 crores for Friday! This is the highest ever collections for a non-holiday Friday in Bollywood history. Trade analysts estimate that it could have easily earned an additional 5-6 crores if it had been released normally across India. In the UK, MNIK previewed on Thursday with an incredible £123k from 89 sites, 4th in the market place behind Avatar, The Wolfman Previews and Invictus.
In this market, MNIK has broken the record for the biggest GBO preview figure for any Bollywood release. The biggest single day preview figure in the UK was previously KANK with £98k.

but dude,records are records,but the movie should have that great substance as 3 idiots had...does it ?? i dont think so....3 idiots will rock as it did for atleast next 50 yrs,no other movie can even match 0.001 % of 3 idiots.

By now everybody knows that SRK is a liar. These figures are false. Rotten tomatoes don't even have a review and you can easily get tickets. Check for yourself.

Cheap publicity from cheap film maker, and actor. Nothing else, they know sentiment of people like u, and earn money in millions. You will see the real test from Monday, coz friday(Shivaratri), sat/sunday are holidays in India, and any media hype movies always ve huge advances for time being, but reality check always comes from Monday onwards. Wait and watch. And, these medias are already sold their diginity long before. U may see from "Rann" movie. Or else movie like MNIK, never deserve more than 3 star at any cost, is getting every channel 41/2 to 5, but u can see people's reaction after the movie is mixed that means it is waiting for big fall from monday onwards. And, they are saying they lost 2-3 crores from Mumbai, but same time they should accept the fact that coz of this controvercies created by Shivsena, film got advantages and many people who do not know wht is the coz behind this, went to movie theatre. Accept or not, but it is true.
Now, this movie has sold to FOX at 100crores, let's how far it recovers it's cost.

Had great hopes from KJ and SRK before watching this movie.. but, alas, all in vain. Kajol was as usual good, SRK tried but the character and story /plot itself had not much grip. On top of it, this story would have made sense if released in 2002. Its too late to raise this issue, though it might exist even now (I am not sure).
