SRK and Karan leaving no stone unturned for the release...
by rohit mukkawar on Feb 12, 2010 11:29 AM

Similar to SRK, CM Ashok Chavan also did not leave any stone unturned in letting this issue escalate out of hands and becoming a prestige issue for Shiv Sena... Everyone very well knows the hold of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and in particular Mumbai... Had the better sense prevailed, state govt. should not have stopped SRK from meeting Sena chief and resolving the issue in the bud...
Just to suppress Shiv Sena, Congress tried to use the issue and got back into its face... Now that Shiv Sena achieved what they intended, they would be more upbeat and do more of such things which is unwanted by anyone...

God forbid .... but Mumbai is a sitting duck now.
by Shashidhar Nanjundiah on Feb 12, 2010 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

Thanks to the skewed sense of priorities of the State Govt, Mr Chavan has exposed Mumbai as a soft target. The CM has himself admitted that it is sad that all the police forces have to be deployed for protecting multiplexes for SRK's film release instead of having to tackle terror and naxals.

God forbid, but Mumbai is now a sitting duck for any terror attack, with the majority strength of the police force deployed for security arrangements for SRK film release. If something untoward happens like 26/11, who is responsible ? It is a pity that the entire media is silent on this aspect. Maybe in the din of the publicity hype they have even lost sight of national priorities. God save our country !

Since this is such a difficult problem, far beyond the capabilities of the Chief Minister, maybe he should walk barefoot from his official bungalow to Siddhi Vinayak and offer prayers there.

Of course, he could also resign for being unfit to be a Chief Minister, but then resigning for lack of capability is unheard of in India.

Helpless Chief Minister - God Forsaken Mango Man
by Argumentative Indian on Feb 12, 2010 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

What do you call a place, where the Chief Minister is held ransom by a bunch of private armies and the Mango Men (Aam Admis) are left to fend for themselves? It is called the Bihar of the 1990s (under Laloo's Cattle Fodder driven leadership) and Maharashtra of 2010.

Is Paksitan a good neighbour? This question is like asking is Swine Flu a bad thing? Ofcourse it is, everyone knows that, but if someone has a differing view, including SRK, then he / she has a right to that view, personally. His /her other acts / deeds, as long as permissible by law, cannot be attacked. Our constitution gurantees us this right. Balls Thack and his nephew are hitting our constitution, every day. SRK is NOT hitting our constitution, his views may be contrary to our general views, but his actions are well within the law of the land.

I agree with you on some points but not all of them.
CM is right when he says that he is not here to promote movies. Its the disillusionment of urban public who give unnecessary importance to copy cat industry of bollywood. He is right also when he says that police forces cannot be removed from their post to counter terrorism and naxals to give air tight security to trash bollywood movies. Its not for this that we are paying taxes.
SRK and SS both should apologize to public for their deeds. SS should pay for all the damages they did. And SRK should apologize not to SS but people for his never ending pro-Paki statements.

Shiv sena just needs an issue to create disturbances. If it is not religion then it is Marathi versus North Indians. They are not behind any genuine cause . I am surprised that many members in this forum also are supporting them by linking 26/11 to this. The shivsena also has no concern abt what happened on 26/11. If u are asking where was shahrukh and xy zee during and after 26/11, let me ask you all where was Bal thackerey and Udhav that time. Dont go by their false sympathy for Hindus, its just a political gimmick and am surprised that so called educated people in this forum are falling prey to it. The stopping of the movie release is a political game between two parties. We should be concerned that we are not being allowed to watch what we want to watch in a democratic country. So should give full support and go and watch the movie. Only if public rises these goondas will back off. But if there is no unity among people they take advantage.

Which Public are you talking about ? The Maharashtrians fully support Shiv Sena. If they do rise they will rise only in support of Shiv Sena. Shah RUkh Khan's movies should be banned in future too. Marathis have not worn bangles!
