THE NEWS OF HANEEFA UNCLE'S DEATH CAME AS A SHOCK TO ME. HE IS BEING MY CLOSE FRIEND'S VALYAACHAN , I REGRET FOR NOT MEETING HIM ATLEAST ONCE IN MY LIFE. IT EVEN HURTS ME TODAY . UNCLE I LOVE U AND MISS U VERY MUCH .
The good period of Kerala films are over >Nobody has time to sit and watch classics .I remember my college days when we used to see class movies and character actors we used to debate on the quality of movies .80 and 90s where the best two decades on Kerlala movie industry Padmarajan ,,Bharathan ..lohitdas ..All have gone all great actors are now ready to say good bye ..Mohanlal and Momooty by them self can not make a classic .It was character actors, great directors who made the difference .Now people left are Nedumudi Venu, Thilakan ,Innocent..Movies are crap ..Saw a movie Happy husbands It can show how pathetic the taste of Kerala has changed Haneefa was a silent comedian ..pure talent and good Muslim a good human being .I salute him may his sole rest in peace
Happened to see him in hospital ICU on feb 1.felt bad and sad to see a great actor suffering. since i am working in SRMC hospital chennai, around 4pm i got a sms about sad demise of haneefa and saw his dead body in the mortuary. It is a case of liver dissorder, and as usual a victim of chronic alcoholism( I suspect).except cine artists like seema, urvasi, lizzy priyadarshan it was a calm evening with few mallu students waiting outside the mortuary. any way big loss to south film industry. great actors carrier with sad climax.

putting on record something which is suspected and not verified could have been avoided.

You should have apologized here for posting a wild humiliating surmise. Haneefa is one person who was a teetotaler through out his life died of liver cancer. He was informed of the this terminal situation six months ago. Most, including Mamootty and Kamal Hasan, were informed of thi. So at least now you must come and correct this wrong surmise you made.
He had a great screen presence and comic timing. Really enjoyed his roles in Sivaji as CM, the dubious house broker in Tamil remake of Khosla ka Ghosla or the unforgettable scene as a drunkard wanting to go to Vadapalani with alongwith Vivek... 'Brainukku onnum damage illaye' line in Sivaji brings a smile everytime I am down...
The villain whom everyone loved on screen... you ll be sorely missed...
