There is no doubt that Mohanlal and Mammotty are two most recognized and respectable actors from malayalam movie industry and its because they can act in subtle or commercial kind of movie with great ease. Kandahar is one of those Mohanlal's commercial movie which not only shows his strong acting prowess but its also is a good family entertainer.
Good movie to watch it with your family as a mother it helped to showcase an example to my kids the value of our soldiers and respecting their service.
The movie is quite good.Most of us are liking the movie but seems like some of them are critising just for the sake of it. I guess we want to scare off all the movie makers and then we will have no movies to watch. Then the so called rediff discussion board critics & film gurus will make A class movies.
He should do a Historical set in the 30's. He would be a hotshot lawyer with a meek assistant called M.K. Gandhi fighting the Brits. Mani would his sidesick. Lal's punchline could be : Saipee ninthe velutha chanti ivanthe karutha kaykonndu njan adichu pottikkum! Title of the Movie: Policy Raja

the line in English would be : My black dumb-A_S-S will smash your puny white A-S-S! Jaysurya could play Gandhi with Kaya Madhavan as buxom Kasturbha Anhtarjannam. Bob Anthony as Lord Mountbatten who has a climax fight with Lal since his wife is torn betwen affection for Lal and Nehru played by Salim Kumar.

very true.. one of the worst movies i have ever seen in malayalam.. money & time loss :(
Kandahar is more of a emotional drama movie its not a war movie rather it portrays the sacrifices made by our soldiers for our country.I watched it with my family and we enjoyed it.
