The problem that Mohanlal is that he is surrounded by a coterie of people who donot give him the right opinion. Afterall a driver should only remain as a driver and not an adviser to Mohanlal for acting. Mohanlal is trying to live his life as the character |"Saroj Kumar" in his hit movie Udayanaanu thaaram. If only Mohanlal stops seeking advise from his driver will Malayalam Cinema get back Mohanlal the actor else Mohanlal the Superstar will kill Mohanlal the actor.

A terrible thing to happen
by harish on Dec 16, 2010 02:20 PM  | Hide replies

As I was flicking through the channels, I happened to see some scenes from the film Keerthi Chakra. They were terrible. I don't know how it became a hit. I couldn't believe when it got a sequel. And now another sequel. It's sad to see the plight of malayalam films, the industry which produced few of the best films in India..

You 'flicked through the channels' and happened to see 'some scenes' from Keerthi Chakra. That's it.
And you made all the above judgments based on that! Who should play heed to such amateurish comments and obviously you don't know about Malayalam films which still continue to produce better films and keep on winning national awards.

I have been watching Malayalam films from birth. Mohanlal used to be a wonderful actor. His decline started in 2000. If you feel that this melodramatic film is good, then I don't have anything further to say. Try watching the films in the late 80s early 90s time frame and then you realize how GREAT Malayalam films were. Now also we have good films, despite all these. MTs Neelathamara was a good film. Same can be said about flicks like Rithu, Thalappavu and Thirakkatha. The problem with the new generation, is that they haven't seen much of the classic malayalam films that I was fortunate to watch during my college days !

I agree with Harish...Mr. Major Ravi cannot be called as movie director...he's just a documentory maker...his earlier movies are craps...which cannot be called as a movie. Currently in malayalam film industry one of the best director is Ranjith....i luv his movies (Kaiyyoppu, thirakatha, pranchiyettan etc).

The fact that North Indians and South Indians
by piri on Dec 16, 2010 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

in general (IN GENERAL) belong to different races is well evident in their different physical features.

And the differences in their physical features are well brought out in the physiques of prominent movie actors of the north and the south !

While Mammootty, Mohanlal, Rajnikant, Sharath, Chiranjeevi and practically every other south actor have round faces, round trunks, roundish limbs and jowls hang out from all sides of their faces, northern actors such as Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Kumar, A.Bachan, etc. have leaner and more 'straightish' features !

hughh get a life, u lowlife - rajnikanth is marathi. mammootty and mohanlal and all the guys are old, yes they are fat. younger actors like prithviraj or any others have leaner straighlist features. govinda is round like mohanlal. chiranjeevi is as fat as manoj tiwari.

what exactly is ur point.

Even the young Prithviraj has his facial jowls showing up clearly enough !

In time, those jowls will 'bloom' out in all directions !

And didn't I use the term 'GENERAL' ??

There will always be people whose racial descent is mixed in the north as well as in the south. That does not obliterate the fact that several distinct races have been living in India for centuries/millennia !

well, when i first came to north India i foun d that it just not people who were ignorant of south and its culture , the media was also playing its role. Most newpapers here put in more news on britney spears than when some south indian actor gets a national award or an artist achieves something of exceptional merit. It was bit surprising and painful then, but on gets over it.

as far as actors have Straight brain (sharp) like kamal, mamooty, rajni, mohanlal' we can see any shaped body. fall by the way side

such movies tend to look clumsy since we dint have the budgets to make it look authentic..
and mamooty isn't looking fit enough to play action packed role..
