Thats a wrong observation. Its pretty clear to me that the 2 people who intervened where 1.Aamir Khan and 2.SRK's wife Gauri. By your interpretation, it should have been "Aamir Khan's and SRK's wives". The way you put it suggests that Aamir Khan and SRK's wives (multiple wives of SRK) intervened. The article is correct.
