It looks like you hate him, because of his religion. Cool down man. He is an Indian.
ARR is no doubt talented. Roja, DilSe, Bombay kind of movies had outstanding music. Yet, feel he copies so much. For e.g. Chariots of Fire in Jeans, Enigma music in Kadhal Desam sort of let down. He deserved Oscar. But for other movies and certainly not SDM.For 127 Hours his score is brilliant though. The movie itself (yet to get a full worldwide release) is good. For sure the hero wud win the Oscar.

True, he is a MadrasMusician. he is not a gutkha-chewing hindi-speaking semi-literate.

There are other greats man. Naushad, Ilayaraja, etc.Even Harris Jeyaraj makes good music just that he also lifts the tunes straight away. So dont be a Porukki calling others P00rki.

Even the subsaharan countries are better compared to the scandals from A Raja, the Tamilian. Sum up all the scandals from the subsaharan countries and definitely A Raja, the Tamilian's would outsmart the rest. Thats the Tamilian standards.

Ilaraja worked with Budapest Symphony orchestra. Has conducted Royal Philharmonic of UK as well. Many Indian classical musicians are known world wide.A R Rehman failed while conducting Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Rehman is very good. Just that Slumdog Jaiho kind of music din't deserve Oscar & he need not copy / lift the tunes.

But they won't get Oscar award. Rehman is popular in USA. I know your heart and stomach is burning.

You are missing the point here. If Mumbaikars say Sachin is a Maharastrian pride, wont u say that its sounds region phobic.

He is making many Indians (not just tamilians) proud. And you want to throw him out. Better bring your copy cat Annu Malik to score music, as he is known for singing glory before Dawood. Looks like you guys live only gangsters and their chamchas.

ARR is also an embarrassment. For a person to leave the faith of his ancestors and joing a fanatical sect is encouragement to bigotry and radicalism.

Keep tamil to the side. If you consider facts, Rehman got his break and advanced his early career in Telugu film indistry. He made it big after he published some private songs and moved to Bollywood. Lets just be proud that he is an Indian.

It takes one winner to appreciate the other winner. For sure as Indians lets not say Tamilian or Assamese, etc. Let the greats be Indians. Be it Rehman or Sachin or Saina.
Re: Ohhh...
by Telveer on Dec 14, 2010 08:47 PM
To be a global artiste, you need to have a wider perspective. Rehman cant limit himself to catering just one type of music if he has to get noticed in the global arena.
