LEADER was a great attempt to make a meaningful movie which shows us the dark reality of today's politics. Superb direction from Shekhar Kammula and Rana's acting was adequate for his first film. I think more film makers should come out with bold movies like LEADER with new subjects.
1. Kedi 2. Varudu 3. Mahesh Khaleja 4. Komaram Puli 5. Orange Out of these movies Komaram Puli & Varudu have been selected for Razzie awards (afterall award is a award be it Oscar or Razzie).
I am sorry being a telugu to admit that our industry is one of the worst. We find that senior actors like Nagarjuna, Balakrishna still acting in useless & senseless movies with no script, freshness or anything. Very few meaningful movies (4 or 5) out of over 250 movies produced in an year. We witness the same mass masala movies with the hero shown as a superman irrespective of any star as the hero. If we have 1 Rajinikant in Tamil, here all heroes barring some comic heroes like Allari Naresh are shown as super heroes. No sensible stories or human values. The telugu movies are very far from reality and over the top. Every hero thinks he has an image and the movie has to be in line with his image. The strict rule is "No multi-starrers", because each hero wants to dominate the full screen by himself. I find that this industry is the most self-centered, selfish and controlled by few goons in white collars. When can we expect meaningful movies in Telugu ??? It really hurts me to write the above, but unfortunately this is reality.

I believe it's the audience who are at fault more than anybody else. We are tolerating rubbish films for too long and it's time we do the right thing. Otherwise the industry as a whole will collapse. Fortunately, the people are changing and as you see the success of small films will only improve the quality and reduce the quantity

True. The heroes are always shown as supermen. Also the heroes do not want to experiment with the roles as their fans will not accept them in those kinds of roles. The mentioned films were good because they were close to reality and it showed that a film need not have star power to be called a good movie.
After reading various reviews of Rajamani I've come to a conclusion and I think many of you will also that this person is "Good for Nothing". Forget her reviews

Yeah... you want to see mass masala entertainers which are baosted themsleves as biggest hits of insudtry though those actually not. I agree these films are not commerically success. But these are the best of lot. Grown up man! Watch for content, not for crap.
In Bollywood,Tollywood most of the actors are entering into film industry purely on recommendation basis. The government should strictly conduct entrance exams to recruit the artists into the film industry.since from many years, this ugly tradition is continuing. Each and every citizen of india has the right to act in films, and only merit should be considered not on recommendation basis. almost 98 % of film actors have entered into film industry thru backdoors and are dominating the film industry and earning crores of public money. Acting is not a difficult job, any lay person can act in films, but they are not getting the oppurtunity because they don't have any relatives from their family. This ugly tradition has to be stoopped otherwise merit will have no existence in the film industry.

khaleja is a very good and matured movie...it crossed tollywood standards…the film is so gud technically....though the film din do well at the Box office...personally i liked the film....while in the case of orange....it was the best and sincere attempt made by director and producer....this movie has the best love story in recent times....
Don't go according to hit...go according to u r likeness....the hits are caluclated on the mass audience and centes...who can't guess how and with what standards movies are made....they just for the entertainment...for example take brindavanam( i hate that movie)…it was a huge hit because it has lot of mass appeal like fights, dance n all….bt I feel itz a movie made for the sake money…nutin more than that…neither story is gud nor the direction….
NO OFFENCE PLEASE!...
Once again repeating the list which I liked personally n would feel happy if anyone support me… 1.khaleja 2.vedam 3.prasthanam 4.orange 5.leader
Please note that the list is prepared on the basis of the Loss it made to the producer. Maximum lost movie is topped the list.
By the way an interesting news is that Mr. Nagababu, the producer of Orange movie has sold his house to meet the losses he realized from our top 3rd movie 0range
