HI Guys, dont be bothered about rediff using the word "Militant" against Surjya Sen. they have tge knack of evoking people like us to maximise the numbers of hits. a kind of cheap publicity. shall not be sure if this is posted.
I strongly object the word "school teacher-turned-militant" term used against Master da. Friends please raise your voice against rediff, how dare they use the term "militant" for a freedom fighter, shame on you rediff, you don't know what Master da has gone through, the writer has zero respect for freedom fighters and don't deserve to be an Indian, throw him out of the country to Pakistan and see whats the difference between a militant & freedom fighter is.

He was a freedom fighter and a militant too, if viewed from two different angles. And over the years we have developed a negative perception of Militancy or militants. But in literal terms whoever takes up arms and violence to achieve their goal(freedom in this case) can be termed as Militant.

Hats off to Ashutosh Gowariker for making such a Film.We indians should stop taking our freedom for granted especially the younger generation!!. At 13 there were boys who were ready to sacrifice their lives for the country. If caught, They were tortured like animals and hanged. All bcos they loved their motherland and wanted freedom. Today we have got gr8 leaders like Kalmadi Raja ,Ashok Chavan who shamelessly siphon off crores of rupees which were meant for the govt. and yet no action is taken against them...they are treated like Loyalty and i feel that the aim of such leaders is to only make money.. country be damned..Look at the way we are treating our hard won freedom..I feel the time for the next revolution has come..This time the revolution will be against corruption and dirty politics..

Ashutosh Gowarikar is an exceptional person and a thought leader. If Marathis follow him they would do well...But unfortunately they sometimes get entrapped by chauvinistic leaders as well...
Thanks Mr Ashutosh Gowariker for bringing out a golden leaf from the history of Indian Freedom Struggle. Chittagong Uprising, led by Masterda Surya Sen and his able comrades Nirmal Sen, Ambika Chakrabarty and other dedicated members of BV (Bengal Volunteers) is a must to know - if we try to know how we won freedom and at what cost !! The title of the movie is aptly selected as the volunteers gave their lives as if they were playing with it - for the sole reason of getting our country win its freedom. This movie will definitely take the present and future generations to the books of history to know more about Chittagong Uprising/Struggle of Jalalabad. An interesting incident to add ..Am presently based at UAE and while on a taxi, the driver ( from Bangladesh) told me that he is from Chittagong and he told me that the place has fondly remembered the sacrifices of B.V led by Masterda Surya Sen. This was really fantastic to know - just thought of sharing with you all. Thanks to you Mr Ashutosh for your tribute to the cause and Kind Regards to you all.
