The movie is an insult to farmers who have been victims of the system. By showing a farmer deciding to commit suicide just for the sake of compensation, the filmmakers have made light of a serious issues. Shame on Amir Khan and the team...instead of touching the real serious problems of farmers...they have created humour out of it.
Ashutosh Govarikars Lagan was a hit. Cocept was unique...every character was the hero and had a important role to play. They have lifted the same idea...the same rural characters. Even media posters are copied. But they have failed to show sensitivity to our beloved hardworking farmers problems.

You seems ignorant about creative aspect of films. Don't get carried away. Think deeply. Satire is fine medium to show corrupt politicians...but it is insensitive to farmers problems and their suicides reasons.

On the contrary, the film is sensitive towards their problems.
I guess you don't know the meaning of the word satire.

Films is not just about looks, otherwise actors like Dino Morea, mark Robinson would have had a cakewalk in films.

Well said @Opinionated. Looks like Bollywood fans are more interested only in the looks of their actors/actresses

Your anger is understandable. But note that people just dont watch a documentary which shows the truth.
For example, have you yourself seen Fahrenheit 911, or Sicko, or Food Inc, The Corporation?
All are excellent, award winning Hollywood documentaries that are "made in AMERICA, man !"
Even then, people dont see them and still believe 911 was the doing of one bunch of Afghans/Iraqis under Osama Bin Laden / Saddam Hussein.
When even young people living in cities in India dont bother to see everything about even ther spectacular 911 showpiece event, precisely because it is in documentary format, how do you expect people to see a boring documentary about Grameen Bharat?
Hence the need for comedy.
And since life in grameen Bharat in central and northern India is only black, the comedy must be a black comedy.
Aamir Khan has made it popular to make satire movies.
Such movies leave strong impressions on people's minds - Lagaan was another such movie.
You actually feel like going to help Bhuvan and his people in some way or another.
That is the feeling Peepli Live tries to invoke in you -
- by slyly posing as a harmless comedy.
That's the big trick.
Unlike Slumdog Millionaire, which was probably just made for Oscars.
But it too had a purpose - to question NRIs what they "hate", whether they should consider Indians not good at English and their customs as "lowly".
Confused which one to put first so joint rank 1 given rank 1 :- Udaan & Peepli Live Rank 2 :- LSD Rank 3 :- Ishqiya Rank 4 :- Tere Bin Laden & Rajneeti Rank 5 :- Lahore
