Everybody should be free to choose whichever religion they like. but to say that Islam is a threat or to label all Muslims as terrorists is regretable. because if there about about 30,000 Europeans embracing Islam every year and around 70,000 americans becoming Muslims, then you will have to admit that there is some attraction in that religion which makes those people become Muslims in spite of all the hate campaigns. I would think that this is due to the Internet and ease of information in this modern age. more and more people are knowing what Islam stands for. the word itself means peace. we cannot blame the majority of peace-loving Muslims for the extremism of a handful of people. my ancestors were hindus. I have respect for them but I am proud to be a practising Muslim.

The brand name Hindu is fine..its got a mystical sound to it..to be a Hindu is pure joy. Write to Ms Roberts to help propagate Hinduism as the most refreshing alternative to supremacist religions and hate and kill for their depraved God.

Although your suspicion is valid, Julia Roberts is a genuine person.

The media does report many prominent white people who live very Hindu-like lives.

For example, you would not normally know that Steve jobs is a practising Buddhist and vegetarian.

And for all his "temper tantrums", Steve Jobs meditates regularly.

So you see, it only when something new happens that the media tells us about this.

The problem is that our media are Macaulay's Children - products of a deliberately engineered education and social system.

We call everything westerners do as great.

And we never call our own people great until they call them great.

This is a chronic, endemic mentality disease with all English educated Indians.

When Indians go to America, we here call them great. It is indeed tough to go to USA and study and compete and win.

But it is also important to see whether or not your own civilisation itself is far advanced in crucial aspects of life.

And if you find it is, then status and money should be paltry gains before knowledge and wisdom.

After all, the greatest westerners - scientists and thinkers routinely applaud the vast and deep knowledge and wisdom of Indian and Chinese cultures.

Yet we hanker for white skin, tasty meat and liquor, bank balance, conformity, and stupid awards from a stupid, biased, political Western elite.

For this, we deserve the shit we get.

You are so right..the English speaking Indian is not only a joke but the most pretentious phoney one can find..to top it all a recent development has been to speak their native language like Hindi with an English accent...what a joke..please teach Indians to be Indians, not European or American tourists in India.

living a virtuous clean life is being a Hindu..it doesnt mandate 'following' like Islam or Christianity...faith is not important in Hinduism, self elevation and spiritual upliftment is. Believing in anything doesnt get you to heaven in Hindu thinking.
