BO expectations

3 Idiots made abut 240 crores worldwide.
Sivaji made about 160 crores worldwide.
Hindi Gajini made about 140 crores worldwide.
Dasavatharam made about 120 crores worldwide.
Rajneethi gets to the same 120 crores worldwide.

Now wait for Endiran, which is expected to shatter all records and make about 270-280 crores, which is quite unheard off for an indian movie, beating the record holder 3IDIOTS.

Lets compare Sivaji collections with the expected numbers from Endiran.

Tamil Nadu:
Sivaji : 80 crores
Endiran : 120 crores (expected)

Andhra Pradesh (telugu version):
Sivaji : 25 crores
Endiran : 35 crores (expected)

Kerala:
Sivaji : 10 crores
Endiran : 13 crores (expected)

Karnataka:
Sivaji : 10 crores
Endiran : 13 crores (expected)

Rest Of India: (includes minuslcle hindi collections as well)
Sivaji : 5 crores
Endiran : 30 crores ( as Hindi version is going to be heavily promoted this time, unlike sivaji which had a late forgotten release)

Overseas:
Sivaji : 30 crores (mostly tamil, few for telugu version, no hindi version)
Endiran : 60 crores ( tamil telugu hindi)

Grand Total:
Sivaji : Around 160 crores Nett
Endiran : Around 270-280 crores (Expected)

Sorry my friend. North Indians are not a great fan of Rajinikanth. Moreover Dabang is also releasing on same day. So collecting Rs 30 crores is a dream for Robo. But Rajini is better than Pogo channel for kids.

The hindi movie watching community is 8 times bigger than tamil movie watching community, still some Tamil movies grosses are competing with hindi, just imagine what would have happened if the tamil movie watching community is equivalent to that of hindi, bolywood would not be amassing 1/6 of Tamil for sure.

No false propaganda please!Telugu version of shivaji was bought for 14 crores and distributors got 4 crores loss.My uncle is one of the victims.Sure Robo telugu producers will go to gutters even if the film is a hit.Too much of hype and bad results.Dont inflate the figures as you like.I doubt the 80 crores figure for Tamil nadu also.

Whatever has happened to A.R.Rahman
by Shashi Kumar on Aug 10, 2010 11:04 AM  | Hide replies

The writing is on the wall - Endhiran's music is perhaps the worst yet from A.R.Rahman. I cannot find a single tune worth humming. Rahman is now trying to pass off fusion of many unwanted sounds as international music. I really miss the Rahman who made such lovely melodies till not so long a go. Maybe leaving everything to "Iraivan" is not such a good idea after all.

what writing on the wall ... its super duper music is creating waves... Perhaps ARR is creating the finest music now-a-days as he is in peace with himself... How can u say a song of the calibre of Kadhal Anukkal and Irumbille is not good... Its perhaps the best of the 20th and this 21st century...
