2 star is more than enough for this movie
by TZ on Aug 06, 2010 09:02 PM  | Hide replies

I have seen this movie, there is nothing new in the movie and in slow pace, hardly we can give 1.5 or max 2 if possible, rediff taking money from producers to hype their movies. thats why website is running

If the Kapoora family (Anal and his daughters) is trying to target a particular age group by saturating their campaign to promote this mediocre crap of a movie, they are completely off the target.

By badgering the Rediff viewers with everything from who did the make up on this damp squib to who was in-charge ensuring the girls had clean under wear everyday, familia de Kapoora has killed all the curiosity about what appears to be a chick-flick ordeal.

Way to go Kapoora family.

The damage caused to Anal Kapoora's brains by the pollution in Chembur is finally manifesting itself in the promotion for this movie.

These rediff reviewers are nuts. They just want to show they know more vocabulary words then other, and hence qualify as good writters. Please write something which reaches audience easily and digestable...

Do you qualify them as good writers? A good writer is the one who writes in simple and effective language. Like RK Narayan, Abdul Kalam and few others.

Emma is no chick flick or chik lit, Aisha is and sucks badly
by Sri Rao on Aug 06, 2010 08:37 PM

The character Emma, despite her wealthy origins, is deeply compassionate, less prone to show off and disdains those (like the character Elton) who are snooty and look down on the less fortunate.

Aisha lacks these character traits altogether. Granted, this is the 21st century and values change. But this movie is a let down for precisely those reasons. True to Bollywood form, there is much form and no function here. A lot of shiny veneer and absolutely nothing to think about. Jane Austen's Emma was a lesson in social manners and values- and because of that, it was not chick lit, though it appealed to women enormously. This one is cloying, annoying, irritating and completely indigestible for males.

Aisha was a bad film, PERIOD.
I watched it today with 80% occupancy in the theatre and everyone was waiting something good to happen. At last it did- the film ended.
Fashion? Ah right... Did you see how few of the dresses Sonam wore were not fitting very well as they should have been? What fashion is the review-er is talking about?
Don't watch films awe struck, mouth open and concentrating more on the box of popcorn in your hand. Get some film knowledge, or better start watching some really good films to know what 3 star rating means.

Please get Raja Sen back, his reviews were atleast entertaining.

BAD review (well these days, its become a norm anyway on rediff)
by Champak Chola on Aug 06, 2010 06:58 PM  | Hide replies

As said by almost all the readers, this one is a useless review.
Really a movie review is not about how much 'GRE' english words you know.
While reading, if I'm getting more engrossed in understanding what you really mean to say, then the plot is lost (no pun intended). And in the end, if you are not indicating whether the movie is watchable or not, then you've wasted yours, mine, as well as hundreds of readers' time too.

what is this all about ?
by ultraviolet on Aug 06, 2010 06:26 PM  | Hide replies

review of any Hollywood movie?
Review of the book 'Emma'?
Review of Sonam Kapoor's appearance?
Review of English proficiency of Ms.Verma?

I think Ms.Verma is a victim of 'Verbal decentry' like Raja Sen!!! I can agree if this is a personal diary note of her.. But rediff is not her personal diary..Being a Movie Review, it must be understandable to common people who use to visit this page.. OR U PUT AN ADDITIONAL NOTE OR APPENDICE FOR THE COMPLEX TERMS!!!!
