Bit skpetical about timing.Ecspecially Pope is visiting UK this summer. World has moved long way from Crusade period, when Pope used pardon the "nobles" who donate money to fighters.

Attraction to hinduism is a mere infactuation to untruth. That will get subsides over the time. But Jesus words will prevail always

Answer to some queries here. Jesus has given authority to St. Peter and his other followers to pardon the sins. Forgiveness is the thump rule in Christianity.

George Harrison became a devotee of Lord Krishna
by naveen chandra on Apr 12, 2010 05:58 PM  | Hide replies

The writer should get the facts correctly.
This is an excerpt from wikipedia:
During the filming of the movie Help!, on location in the Bahamas, a Hindu devotee presented each Beatle with a book about reincarnation. Harrison's interest in Indian culture expanded to Hinduism. During a pilgrimage to Bombay, India with his wife, Harrison studied sitar, met several gurus and visited various holy places, filling the months between the end of the final Beatles tour in 1966 and the commencement of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band recording sessions. In 1968, Harrison travelled to Rishikesh in northern India with the other Beatles to study meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
In the summer of 1969, he produced the single "Hare Krishna Mantra", performed by the devotees of the London Radha Krishna Temple. That same year, he and fellow Beatle John Lennon met A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder - acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Soon after, Harrison embraced the Hare Krishna tradition (particularly japa-yoga chanting with beads), became a lifelong devotee, being associated with it until his death.[138]
Harrison was a vegetarian from 1968 until his death. While during his lifetime, Harrison bequeathed to ISKCON his Letchmore Heath mansion (renamed Bhaktivedanta Manor) north of London.

What a bunch of pretentious nutjobs...
Who the hell are they to absolve...
In fact they should look into their own behaviour and how they have shamed the very ideology they claim to uphold.

Title is misleading and Vatican did not absolve anything. If you read the article, it says, "They may not have been the best example for the youth of the day but they were by no means the worst. Their beautiful melodies changed music and continue to give pleasure,".

Besides this is not an official media from Vatican. It is from some popular media in that region.

I am a fan of Beatles Music but I will never approve my child (or for that matter any child) following the footprints of Beatles troop. They are good in their profession but they are by no means role model to Youth.

They travelled so far as to Rishikesh, Uttarakhand to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Didn't they travel to Nithyananda Swami, Rajnish, Asaram etc. etc. Real idiots in search of drugs and women in India...real drug addicts and sex maniacs. Holy sea has done the right thing...forgive your enemy.

My friend, there is good and bad in every group, race, religion etc. Let us not bash any race or religion or society by a few who makes mistakes.

Even in your own religion, there might be millions or billions of good ones but certainly there are some bad apples. If others start judging your religion by those bad apples, it might hurt you.
