Be an actor yourself. Those with zero acting skills talking rubbish against actors is no fun, not even good critiqie. Sorry, zero points for your loser lives.

then why the actors send their movies to non-acting public to watch? If actors judge themselves, every buffoon would be adjudged as "great actor". Actors or for that metter any art or artist are to be judged by the public.
Comments are expected in our no-holds-barred democrazy! Then, are we not comparing apples with oranges? Each are different! One can look at a super-hero from another state & mock! But each attains the status appealing to the mindset of his audience. ML is the quinessential actor in Malayalam though he may not appeal to others! Similarly, super star RK in Tamil who can appeal big-time to his fans but a put-off for those with a different view! There are other super-stars who are revered by their followers but very ordinary indeed to others - have two hands, legs, ears, mouth, nose etc!
It also changes according to the times. Clark Gable was the craze of women couple of generations ago in US but will not appeal to modern gen! The sexiest man in the universe changes every year but may not appeal to those with a different outlook.
Also, the passage of time takes its toll! An ardent Sivaji fan now cannot get much feel from his films now! Satyan in Malayalam used to live his role, but will not appeal to the present. He was very ordinary in outlook & looks & mingled with all just like one of them! Of course, they were all paid peanuts that attracted not the monnkeys but the die-hards with a passion! Even, test cricketers used to travel in second class & were paid few thousand rupees, endorsements? never heard of them!
We all have our own heros & heroines secret, even)!

So what is your point. Would you speak in German flawlessly. Would a north Indian speak in Malayalam flawlessly. People with such low IQ post away in rediff.
i have not seen any south film other than those dubbed in hindi.some of them r having lead roles filled by mohan lal & a hindi movie COMPANY where mohan lal is a police commisioner. only one word come to may mind abt him "extra ordinary"
Mohan lal is indeed the best actor of any era. The kind of rang he had in acting is truely unmatchable. Be it a mental patient in thalavattam, a mischief in chitram, kilukkam, minnaram, chandralekha, the larger than life roles in aaramthamburan, narasimham or a down to earth role in bharatam, vaanaprastham etc, u dnt get an actor who has done such variety with ease. truely great actor. Only kamal hassan is the one who can even come near him, but still he cannot compete with lal.

Amitabh is the best actor my friend. Amitabh has won awards from places like France, and south east for his contribution. And is widely known throughout the world. Mohanlal is more of a regional star, and his few tries in hindi were a flop. Aag for ex.

Dear friend, That does not mean he is the best actor. An actor need not be popular to be the best. I think Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan are the best actors in India on date. Amitabh is a good actor but I doubt if he is the best.

What you think need not be the universal truth my friend. If you talk of a variety of roles, Amitabh has done every genre.
Name any type of role and I can give u an Amitabh film in that role.
At this age also he dares to experiment. It takes lots of courage to do negative roles and roles like Nishhabdh, etc. Amitabh is indeed the best actor India has ever produced.

Mohanlal can try to come near Kamal but cannot compete him. Kamal is far superior than lal
Lalappan looks so trim and energetic? Hopefully he plays a school student in this movie as he looks younger than he did in College Kumaran. Oru Naal varum must be the title hoping for that elusive hit
Mohan lal is the self prode and possesions of mallus and other state guys cant understand his talent or value,.. coz mallus have been watching his movies from past 20 yrs,.. and this guy is the best in his profesion that is acting

Yeah...this coming from people who watch Dada Kondke , Amitabh bachan , SRK , Raj Kapoor , Shammi Kapoor , Jitendra.. and a plethora of other so called 'actors'. Jeez...Rajendra Kumar had 25 silver jubilees in a row and he cant even act.
So shut the f up and deal with the fact that Mohanlal is a genius.

Jamey,
Unlike you people, Mallus watch movies made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and other regional languages, besides English and hollywood. They are more matured movie watchers than the people from cowbelt. They appreciate not only the acting, but other finer points in a movie. A mallu understands that a movie is a director's baby and actor has his own limitations. Many knowlegeble go and watch the movies of particular directors, irrespective who is acting in it. A good director can star a Cobra in lead role in his movie and fetch a 'Bharat Award' for the cobra!

I am a tamilian too... but Mohanlal is one of the brilliant actors of India.I watched many of his malayalam movies and Look at his performance in the recent Kamal co-starrer..itz very nice and If you call his cylinder what is Vijayakanth then? Forget the state boundaries man...let enjoy their works....Dont be so very narrow minded.
