"she is clearly marvellously skilled in the art of cinematic surgery, finding the perfect heartbeats for her narrative." A simple thought lost in verbal diarrhea (clearly marvelously - is sheer clumsiness). Please ponder over the statement – brevity is beautiful - and write such that your thoughts, opinions - the content, that is - stands out. Bringing style into such a narrative is where a master reviewer stands out.
And you wrote - "Tragically, too much is spelt out too literally".

don't take a free ride and start bashing bengalis , its totally uncalled for...heard enough of you f*in gimmicks ..if you have to bash Raja then bash him..if you have got something against bengalis then don't hide it in the garb of Raja Sen bashing...
Raja Sen should have read Kunal Basu's story before reviewing this film. Much worse, he also goes on to comment about the book, "a most affectionate...story" and "too brief and simplistic for a full-length feature" without reading it. Guessing Sen!!!
