There are lot singers who were inspired by Lata. S.Janaki the famous south Indian singer says that her guru is Lata. Lataji's SUR is exceptional. Her range is great. She could interpret the fine detils the composer needed easily. Long live Lataji.

Honestly speaking, Lataji is a legand when it comes to music, but in real life as a person she is very arrogant, won't allow others to become a legand. If you dont get my point Mr.Nair, let me tell about KJYesudasji, when he sung the "Gori tera Gaon.." song it was a major hit during those days, Lataji used her Marathi influence not to allow KJ perform in Hindi, even though he was an opposite artist (male artist). This is her professionalism. Also she was an MP during a previous Parliament, and she would never go to parliament even during important occasions.There are lot other good performers alongwith Lataji. MSSubbulakshmi, Bala Murali, BhimSen Joshi, Bupin, Pattammal, who never faded in their voice. But compare Lataji from her earlier songs with todays' songs.

If any female wants to be a singer she should try to be like Lata ji but don't try to get here persona be reflected on you.I wonder how can such a selfish and arrogant person with a heart as black as Lata have such a divine voice.
