As a featured vocalist on the first Hollywood soundtrack scored by AR Rahman since he won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, Kher's inspirational voice will reach an even wider audience, both on the soundtrack of the new Vince Vaughn Movie, Couples Retreat, and at a concert on November 10 at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Couples Retreat is directed by Peter Billingsley and stars Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman. It will launch in theaters on October 9th. Based on an original idea of Vaughn's, the comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. An early fan of Kailash Kher's voice, A.R. Rahman has called on Kher to record many times remarking that his voice has, "pure soul!". While Kher has recorded with Rahman for dozens of Indian films, Couples Retreat is Kher's first Hollywood film. His soaring, powerful vocals can be heard on the film's flamenco-meets-Sufi soul track "Salvadore."
Kher released his first international album on Cumbancha, performed in front of 18,000 adoring fans at the Hollywood Bowl and 60,000 fans at the new Texas Stadium in Dallas, and presented a brilliant live set on KCRW's influential music program Morning Becomes Eclectic.
A.R.Rehman has lost the magic of Rosa...and many of his earlier songs...its the fact! People like Raju S.are blind with their devotion for ARR and do not have open mind and real knowledge of music. They cry and scream ARR is the best as they know ARR's is loosing the music scene. ARR's limitation with his music...and repeatation of his Sythsiser style and computer control style is getting exposed to every one. Raju S have ignored the fact that ARR has left beautiful...spiritual...peaceful…Hinduism and has accepted Islam in India without creating any music in the media. Thanks to Hindus big hearts!

ARR music become a form of music.nobody can avoid it. those who understand the music in computer would not underestimate ARR 's talent and creativity.he made the music acceptable for all language people. he found out the common taste.he is unstoppable. In this world anybody can compete.so called musical genious can also compete.nobody is going to stop.ARR never praise himself.he revolutionixed the music and changed the traditional way of composing.ARR you are amazing. those who dont want to accept,let them not to use computer in their life as well.
I am really sorry to Ilayaraja fans who keep crying and envoy ARR's growth. I understand your feeling but you have to accept that it is not possible to reach ARR's level. Computer is common device anyone can use it even by Ilayaraja. No one stops!! First of all everyone must understand to make music you need imagination and creativity. Instruments cannot make music. ARR has high caliber and creativity than any other Indian musician that everyone must accept. (including ilayaraja fans) instead of keep crying and cursing him and his music. Be proud about ARR who brought Indian music to different level and also to the world. Have generous mind. If you do not then even god cannot help you as ARR will keep growing and you end up crying which is not good for you and your health.

Ilayaraja is his guru and he is really genius. Now in every songs A. R Rehman’s music does not go beyond Synthesizer and Computer controls. He has lost his magic. Can you imagine he has left beautiful...spiritual...peaceful…Hinduism and has accepted Islam in India without creating any music in the media. He should be grateful to Hindus and Tamilians to forgive him. A.R.Rehman is a lucky musician who has been unnecessarily appreciated and pampered more than his worth. As a singer he is absolutely zero but he cleverly hides behind his computer controls and loud music. He pretends to be a shy person but in reality he grabs every opportunity to be on the stage and in the media.

I agree with most of the things what you have said. He is more of a sound engineer than a composer. Certainly Slumdog does not deserve an oscar. But there are some mind blowing music from Rahman like Lagaan, Jodha Akbar (very rich) which I would say deserved an oscar. It may not be right to totally reject him. But its true that he was marketed well by the FC media and he capitalized on it.

Hi_nd_uism a spiritual , peaceful religion??? Dear brother, to understand i_s_lam(surrender and obeyness to GOD) you need to read quran(relevation of GOD) without any kind of prejudice in mind. ARRAHMAN is concerned, i wont say he accepted it in full sense( GOD knows much better). I think according to him his highest priority will be visiting DARGAS that are against principles of i_s_lAM. May be according to him, Dargas may be his i_s_lAM.

I got it. its NANA ITs difficult to identify. not same as chikku pukku raile by GV prakash(now the music director)
(Tamil or Hindi) compositions.Its at best a an average Rahman work. The best of Rahman ,uptil now has been Tamil and Hindi movie songs. This particular Hollywood set of tracks will not be a best seller.But who knows? Even average ARR music may be a biggie in Hollywood.
