Movie is awesome. This is no way inferior to the movie "A Wednesday". Mohanlal had done a great job and so has Kamal. It is high time, all Tamil movies are taken in this trend. Good to see a movie without any song after a long time.

UPO, its new type of treatment. even though its a remake, its dont insult the original, i personally feel apart from kamal every actors, techs and artists in the movie are excellent.mohanlal especially, i think hes a more mature and seasoned actor, whos is not here to prove a point, just being the character of the movie whereas kamal, he still is not that matured, hes like a actor still trying to prove a point. I think when kamal get rid of that ego of his, u will see the best of kamal. kamal in his character is more the superstar or superactor than the character. Look at the ease mohanlal handles the role, look at kamal, he says he is a common man, a tragic father but inevitably we see a hero in him, thats what he should get rid of.
it is really nice movie and worth watching! it is telling 2 us "whom we will be if,terrorism is continues as today"kaml and mohanlal !!!!!we love u!!!!!!
I thing upo is as good as a wednesday. but because of you have seen a wednseday the shock value is lost and it affects. you very well know what to expect in the next seen. you feel no tension, no anxiety. that affected the film. other wise i thing opo is more realistic than a wednesday. a wednesday concieved in hollywoodstyle. upo more close to india style. in wednseday cop anupam gets a free hand to deal with the situation so easily. no redtapes. even during the kargil war out official system was so corrupt(eg-coffin scam) and sluggish. in upo the cop-chief secretary verbal dual seems very realistic. even the minor changes, like using of jeep for transporting terrorists, is very good and enhances the realistic feel. acting. naseer was the major attraction in a wednesday. of cource, ithink naseen has a slight edge over kamal hassan. i think nasseed looked more like a commonman, while kamal's was more intellectual look. But he did well. and the final burst out is well emoted. mohanlals acting gives upo an edge over a wednesday. anupam concieved his role in hollywood style. he looked, stern, powerful, ang energetic all the time and done very well. mohanlal seemed more natural. see his body language. he used his big fat body to his advatage. his expressions and hand gestures were perfect. his interaction with various people are really interesting.... with the journalist, with his subordinates, with chief sectretary, with kamal all differs. The dialoges is better than wednesday
I wonder why some of our friends are uppity about remakes. A good remake is any day better than a lousy original. UPO is a film that is co-produced by the producers of the original film. It is not a stolen idea being passed of as original. Many Hollywood films are remakes of Korean or Japanese films. The only difference is that unlike Priyadarshan, they purchase the remake rights and give credit wherever it is due. Kamal has just catered to the millions of South Indian film buffs who haven't seen A Wednesday, just as he did with Kuruthipunal which was a wonderful remake of the Govind Nihlani film Drohkaal.
