Watch and say HADIPPA

Its really very funny and stupid that people are critically analysing a complete commercial bollywood masala movie. The movie's promo and publicity no where says that its a classical and some innovative type of movie. From name to songs, promo every things says that its a normal fun film with punjabi and cricket flavour. Then why so much talk about its Punjabi touch and all. The movie lives up to its name and what it had offered. Those who like these types of movie can watch and say HADIPPA and rest can stay away.

There is nothing like Yashraj has shown big promises in the promos of the movie and has failed to deliver the same.

No one is over analyzing or nitpicking this movie for not being upto Richard Attenborough's 'Gandhi'. Far from it. We all understand that this is a bollywood masala film, and Rani herself has portrayed it as such well ahead of the release.

however, even masala films depend on a decent story line and script. Hadippa unfortunately threw in a wafer thin and cliched script, and relies on a very thick serving of Punjabi seasoning. Now since the main dish is missing, we are left holding this very thick serving of Punjabi flavor and nothing else.

Since Punjabi flavor is all there is to this movie, that Punjabi flavor is being discussed and analyzed.

Nobody was expecting a Oscar movie, all we need is a honest decent storyline that does not insult our intelligence. Please do not give us cliche's. Well put exotic bronze!

Kudos to yash raj fils for showing the real Punjab

I thank Yash raj films to show the real punjab & gurbani recital in his movies. Nobody objects to Jai Shri Ram or Ganpati bappa Moreya or any religious slogan or recital. Then why Sukanya is feeling so bad about Punjab or gurbani recital in Yash raj films. I suggest the so called thinking mumbaikars should think beyond Mumbai and their own good religions before getting offended by something good and gracoius about another religions.I hope a good sence will prevail and Sukanya will change her lens for a better harmonious look of our society.

Vasant, I dont think it is the gurbani recital. It is the excessive Punjabi lyrics, dances, themes foisted on audience in one movie after another.

Once again, nothing wrong with that, if it is additional garnishing to an otherwise strong script. However, if Punjabi songs, dances and dialogues (like "I am the punjabi son or a punjabi father" etc) is what is the be all and end all of a movie, and is expected to carry the movie on this punjabi flavor alone, at some point in time people will feel like they are being taken for granted.

Now if this movie itself has a solid script, riveting acting, wonderful songs, then the Punjabi culture would have melted into the movie, and the same audience would be singing paeans of praise of this very movie! Unfortunately, in the absence of a nice story/script, the excessive punjabi flavor boomerangs.

Now if Priyadarshan kept showing Malayali dances, songs, and backdrop in every single movie, after a few movies the tedium factor comes into play. People would be fine so long as the movies are otherwise okay, but if the Mallu flavor is all he uses to sell a Bollywood movie, then the movie should be deservedly condemned.

Most people in India admire Punjabis and their happy go lucky attitude and rich culture. However too much of anything can become boring.
