Kamal !
by jegadeesan durai on Sep 17, 2009 10:08 AM  | Hide replies

Mohanlal can play a bulky police officer /lawyer/drunkard /gangster /musician roles very well which will suit his body type. But Kamal can play a shortman /longman or any role with his body. Besides Kamal is a singer/lyricist/writer/director and cannot be compared with anyone. The only criticism of over make up is still there but when Mallus watch lal with makeup in Paradesi and as a pair for 20 yrs old girl they clap! Useless folks !

Mohanlal and Mamoothy are far better than Kamal, who is merely a mimicry artist . he doesnt know what is acting.. even johny lever can do mimicry and make funny/crying pages that doesnt mean that he is best..

see these achivements of Mohanlal :
A four-time National Award winner, he has won two Best Actor Awards, one Special Jury Award and one Award for Best Film (awarded to the producer). In 2001 the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri for his contributions towards Indian cinema. In 2009, he was granted the rank of honorary Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Territorial Army.[2] The only other celebrities to be inducted into the Territorial Army is cricketer Kapil Dev . [2]

Mohanlal is best known for his movie roles of the late 80s and early 90s. His most notable roles include Solomon in Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Dasan in Nadodikkattu, Jayakrishnan in Thoovanathumbikal, Vishnu in Chithram, Sethu Madhavan in Kireedam, Gopi in Bharatham, Mangalassery Neelakandan in Devaasuram, Anand in Iruvar, Kunhikuttan in Vanaprastham, and Thomas "Aadu Thoma" Chacko in Spadikam.

How many people you think would've watched the above mentioned Nattu Stuff from Mallus?
How many people Knew Mohanlal in India before Company?
Mohanlal and maooty are great actors but Kamal Hassan is Not just a great actor He is a great talent in Technical and creative aspects of film making also.
Mohanlal was not granted Lt Colonel rank but he applied for it and even you can apply for it and depending on your popularity you might become a soldier/Major/etc.,
MR.SAM PUZHAKAL DON"T BLUFF HEAR OUT OF SHEER INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

Please answer one question. Can Mohanlal play versatile roles like Kamal with this physique ? This mallus will criticise Kamal for putting extra makeup /fancy dress etc., but when Lal puts in Paradesi they call good acting. Funny folks !

Mr.Jegadeesan,

I am a tamilian but a fan of Lal Etta, Mammokka and Kamal. The portrayal in malayalam movies are different from Tamil. Watch Thaniyavarthanam for Mammooty's acting. Our own kamal said, "I cry everytime when i watch Thaniyavarthanam". Mohanlal's Kireedam, Vanaprastham, Tanmatra are all classics. When Kamal and Mohanlal act together without ego's why should we fight? Undoubtedly all 3 of them are fantastic actors. Mohanlal himself said that Kamal's passion for film making is unbelievable and thats what drives Kamal to do different characters. It is about passion. Not necessary that Mohanlal and Mamootty should have the same level of passion. In a software company one person does coding so well when compared to others. That is passion but that doesn't mean others are all mediocre. And frankly let us admit that Lal and Mamootty are director's actor whereas Kamal is not. He cannot do a movie without poking his nose into the director's work which is one of the reasons we don't get world class movies from him. I am talking about something like Dev D here.

Kamal on Mohan Lal
by Jins on Sep 16, 2009 06:09 PM

Kamal Haasan while reporting about his film ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’ said that he faced the general problem that anybody faces with a remake. Since ‘A Wednesday’ is a Mumbai-terror centric film there will no difficulty in adapting the film. Terrorism and blasts are universal and they were not confined to any one state.

When he questioned about his experience with MohanLal he said that he was a great actor and superstar. Unlike Kamal, he was very quiet person. One doesn’t even know when he came in, when he memorized his dialogues and when he left. Lal’s quietness is his USP. Kamal added that he was always a bit tense and might be that was a quality he needed to learn from Lal.

Oscar is an award that is being given to films taken at Hollywood. They have one category called International films, under which they will consider all films in the world.. A film/Oscar which does not get Oscar means, it does not mean that film/he is not good/had not performed well.

Ranjith, that is being very unfair to Kerala artistes. Your posting shows that you havent seen some of the roles played by the two brilliant Ms-Mohanlal and Mammooty! Malayalam cinema does not believe in gimmicks as much as it does in story. Catch up with a few mainstream films in Malayalalam; you will chnage your opinion

Guys.. stop fighting..
Both are great actors..
Kamal and Mohanlal are said to be two of the most flexible actors. And Kamal is an allrounder and is more famous. It doesn't mean that Lal is not talented. Just watch Vanaprastham and Kireedam to see his range. Its been a long time wish of both these actors to act together. When they are doing it, please try to appreciate them rather than fighting to prove who is better.

Kamal is a talented artist. And nobody in Indian cinema can defeat him as far as acting is concerned. Lal is one of the finest actors of Malayalam. But not suitable for cop roles or military roles or any such kind of roles. Earlier his comedy films were too good. He was too flexible also. But nowadays Lal lost all those flexibility. He can concentrate more on some simple family roles rather than doing high end roles. Hope Lal will make a come back very soon...Waiting for a mega hit from Lal...
