PLEASE DONT COMPARE KAMAL AND NASEER. BOTH ARE GREAT ACTORS AND HAVE A UNIQUE STYLE OF THEIR OWN.NASEER STARTED FROM SERIOUS ART KIND OF MOVIE AND VENTURED INTO COMMERCIAL MASALA TYPE MOVIES WITH JALWA. WHERE AS KAMAL DOES BOTH ART KIND OF MOVIES AS WELL MASALA ENTERTAINERS.KAMAL IS A GREAT DANCER AND GOOD IN FIGHT SEQUENCES ,COMEDY. HE DOES LOT OF EXPERIMENTING IN HIS LOOKS. HE CAN BE A SUAVE LADIES CHARMER, KILLER IN SIGAPPU ROJAKKAL, A DON IN NAYAGAN, A TEACHER IN MOONDRAM PIRAI, AN INNOCENT MENTALLY INDER DEVELOPED IN SIPPIKUL MUTHU, A CLASSICAL DANCER IN SALANGAI OLI, A BUCK TOOTHED PERSON IN KALYANARAMAN, AN UNEMPLOYED FRUSTRATED YOUTH IN VARUMAYIN NIRAM SIGAPPU, A DANCE TEACHER WHO ATTEMPTS SUICIDE IN PUNNAGAI MANNAN, A DWARF IN APPORVA SAHODARARGAL, AN OLD PATRIOT IN INDIAN A BRAHMIN WOMAN IN AVVAI SHANMUGI,A INVESTIGATING POLICE OFFICER IN VETTAI ADU VILAYADU, AND WHAT NOT IN DASAVATHARAM. HIS SHEER RANGE PLUS HIS MULTIFACETED TALENT AND NOT TO FORGET HIS LOOKS MAKES KAMAL A BETTER ACTOR THAN SOME OF OTHER CONTEMPORARY GREATS LIKE NASEER, OMPURI, MAMMOOTY AND MOHANLAL.

Boss ,Kamal has won national award 3 times , so we know about his calibre . Every actor has his style , so you need to watch the movie and comment .

Nasir Looks like a Pichakaran or Police Naturally, whereas Kamal need to make up and he looks like a Lady Charmer always.

Your comment certainly indicates that you are not so familiar with Kamalahasan the actor. The kind of roles he has been doing for the last 50 years is mind-boggling. Kamal did all that most actors did in their life time by the time he reached his thirties. Since then he has had to keep reinventing himself again and again. I dont think there are many actors with such great commitment to the art of cinema as Kamal and over such a long period of time. Even after 50 years as an actor, he still says that the morning alarm has just rung and it is time to get up and do newer stuff. As regards to Nasir looking like a Pichakaran naturally, well, I am not sure that it is compliment.

he might have done technically tough roles or makeup, but everything is not as good. Except for the role of CBI officer in Dasavatharam, no other role was good enough...
Naseeruddin shah looks a typical middle class man and the dialog he has at the climax is phenomenal (i would have watched it 50 times).. Kamal has the habit of swallowing the dialogues (listen to his interviews, u cannot hear half of what he is saying).. I don't think he can match up to Naseeruddin in to 10%

All these arguments will not hold up to scrutiny. True, Naseeruddin Shah is one of the finest actors we have ever had. Even Kamal has great admiration for Naseer. But just because you saw the film 50 times does make Naseer better than others. There are people who saw Jai Santoshi Maa 150 times, but does that make it a great film. Each one of us have our own eccentricities. Now I finally found out the secret of Kamalahasan's good health....he swallows dialogues daily!!!! My dear friend, like Inspector Balram Naidu says in Dasavatharam, Kamalahasan can speak tamil in 50 languages!!!!

Hmm Naseeruddin is very good but Kamal can act as hero, villain, character role, comedian, old man roles superbly where as Mr Naseeruddin can do roles which are characterized roles. He is better than Kamal in those roles but in a nut shell you have to watch Kamal in his 20 different type of roles which he is versatile then you will not bring the percentages in play.

I think this whole who is better is a lot of nonsense. Each has a different approach. Both have an enviable track record. But personally I would rate Naseer higher, because he gets into the skin of the role. Dasavatharam was an exercise in narcissism. If you look at all of Kamal's recent films, you see the actor more than the character. So I will say that Kamal has slipped as an actor. Also all his films contain a personal statement, to the detriment of the subject.
