What did she do to Vani Jayaram
by Rahul on Sep 15, 2009 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

Is it true that Lataji threatened by the success of Vani Jayaram after her debut song "Papirehara" in Guddi, used goondas to chase her away from Mumbai? And that is the reason why we never heard Vani Jayaram signging again in Hindi? Whoever knows anything about this may throw some light

Yes it is true as done in the business world. After all even Lata can make mistakes being a human.

Lata Mangeshkar indeed is the epitome of Indian music, and so is Sivaji Ganeshan an Institute in himself, not just as an actor, but as a producer too! I salute both!

Dear Rhazes, What happens we normally missout giving respect to such gifted people due to our nerrow mindset. Lataji rose bigger by respecting an elderly person.. Even yur own relatives could be a bigot but that doesn't stop any of younger member of family and fraternity to respect him.. its just our cultural strength which we should never let hampered by image built around.. Take care in your life and you will surely be benefitted. God bless You

Dear Rhazes Ashrawi,
You probably follow Bal Thackeray from last 15 years. But Mangeshkars know their family from 60 yrs ago.
Thackeray's father, Prabodhankar Thackeray was well known in the social-artist circles of Maharashtra.
Bal Thackeraywas amonng the leaders spear-heading struggle for keeping Mumbai in Maharashtra.
So their family ties run far before you & I were even born.

Bal Thackeray took the Hinduism agenda only in 80's & he is good at maintaining relations. Even Bacchhans have v.good relations with his family since 70's

So dont look at everything from a political angle. Then maybe you may be able to see things differently

I entirely agree that Bal Thackeray is a communal person (and I would add that he is a coward too).

However, Lata is to be judged as a singer, where she is simply great, and we should not judge her on the basis of her political inclination.

Even Sharad Pawar is good freind of Bal Thackeray, so now you will pass judgements on his political inclinations too ?

Tommorrow if a very old family friend of yours starts voting Congress, will you disown them just coz you dont like Congress

If you maintain family relations with that friend, does that make u a Congressi ??

THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE

Just one person like you losing respect for her doesn't make any difference to a acclaimed singer like her. There are billions of her admirers. Who cares for your resoect.
