A remake of Telugu Blockbuster POKIRI
by Sexy Shriya on Sep 10, 2009 09:59 AM  | Hide replies

Wanted is just a Hindi remake of 2006 telugu blockbuster hit POKIRI. It starred the darling of the masses Prince and dashing Mahesh Babu who is also the husband of bollywood's Namrata Shirodkar's. Pokiri was such a big hit that it shook some of Bollywood's big leage directors and even Amitabh Bachchan couldn't resist praising the movie for it's technical brilliance and Mahesh Babu's performance. The character of the main protagonist belongs to Mahesh Babu alone. I wish he could also do this hindi remake. Salman Khan is ageing and does not fit to play a youngster anymore. Hope this hindi one manages to pull the strings among the crowds. Good Luck!

dont tell much on hindi films. Hindi action films during 80s are totally bakwas. after qsqt the trend changed. so dont tell greatness abt hindi films. what ull say the climax scene of maine pyar kiya. its totally a rubbish. what naturality in it. come and watch malayalam and tamil movies to see the natural and real acting.

salman is talking abt the fight choreographer asking him to fall, jump and fight for his movie 'wanted' as if it is some big deal.

pokiri was a blockbuster out of the hundreds of action movies that release a year in telugu. i guess wanted, ek and ghajini are the only recent bollywood movies with action at its core. and all of them are remakes from the south.

poor bollywood stars or 'icons' as you sarcastically put them. they can only excel in gay gags, must be natural for them. fights are for real men. and real men are in abundance down south.

Mr. Sam, I think you are missing a point here. The movies getting all the awards are not because it has a hero or heorine that people worship or popular abroad. These movies are technically well made. The script, narration and the entire subject matters. Stars and their popularity isn't important. These films require actors and not stars. And mind it..there is a special award jury for the popular movies called FILMFARE where all your favorite stars like SRK as you mentioned..get awards! Getting a national award is a completely different ballgame and you have to understand that.

When Bollywood actors and actresses get the National awards, you criticize these very same awards. and when south Indian films get the same awards, you make fun of Bollywood.
How conceited and naive can you get??

love india, you are the one who is missing the whole point here. sam's article was a jab at bollywood freaks who goes on lamenting how bollywood is 'far ahead of south cinema' and how it is 'recognized world wide'.

and vishwa, when a guy like saif ali khan bags the national award for the best actor from a movie like hum tum, wat do u expect from people who understand cinema.

both mahesh and vijay are much younger to salman. but bollywood doesnt have too many choices like south cinema where action heros are in great abundance.

we know that, girish. bollywood audience loves only gay gags and weepy love stories. but remember ghajini is the highest ever grosser and it featured a few fights.
