An Analysis of Raja Sen's Review
by Himanshu Manroa on Sep 09, 2009 08:50 PM  | Hide replies

Check this out Folks -

The top 4 paragraphs of this review pack in a whopping 395 words in just 13 sentences. That's an amazing average of 30.5 words per sentence!!!

And this one takes the cake with 50 words rattled off in 1 single sentence -

It's incredible how the lack of humans in a film both eliminates an obvious subtext while enhancing a deeper one, and the resultant emotional connect we make with these stitchpunks is a much more instinctive one than we do with most actors, at least in a film of this length.

Made sense? I dunno....what on earth are you trying to convey Raja dude?

Crazy!

Useless Review
by Himanshu Manroa on Sep 09, 2009 08:24 PM

Hey Raja,

A few days ago Pritish Nandy had come up with this great article on Bombay Times - Of why can't people communicate simple things in simpler and lesser words. Of why is crisp and concise communication still the best way to get your message across.

However, your reviews continue to beat that principle. Why do you have to be so verbose, around-the-bush and wannabe?

Please keep it simple bro. I am yet to decipher from your review that is this movie entertaining enough? will kids enjoy it? Is it great animation? Why is it so frightening?

Cut the crap buddy. We've seen enough of your international movie gyan and word prowess.Grow up! Simply review movies and stop self-promotion.

Burton

Tim Burton is the one who made 9. Shane Acker made the earlier 10 minute movie on which 9 is based on.

Ms Mehta, I guess your understanding of chinese cinema needs an education. For starters, check out the following films: make sure they have subtitles.

Farewell my concubine
To Live
Hero
The house of flying daggers

There are other gems. but this should get you going.

Baby, 95% movies which you are talking about forms only 1 % of all the craps released by hollywood each year. It's only the selected few which gets an international release (Better, filtered ones only). Top 5% movies here in India can any day compete with any of the hollywood product.
