People in Maharashtra know more Marathi than South Languages. So if Rediff wants more Maharashtra based readers, setting up office in Mahim and all, then they should be putting up reviews for Marathi movies too.
Marathi movies are more close to the soul of Indians, storywise and screenplay wise.
Its sad that India uses Maharashtra as base for movies, but doesnt help promote Marathi movies and its industry.
If u see the black n white movies, Marathi movies can still win us loads of Oscars. The technique, the screenplay, the essence of indian, the actors and the narrative was far advanced than most of the films even today.

It's the South and North movies, which are popular among the masses, not Marathi. That's the huge problem. You got owned by Bollywood, so Marathi movies have no place in mainstream
Every Friday rediff reviews Hindi movies which does not run even for 3-4 days in multiplexes. But rediff never reviews regional or marathi films which are successful than hindi movies like Valu, tingya,Rita etc.Only when it goes for oscars or for international film festivals(shwas, harishchandrachi factory)they take a note of it.Why such discrimination? Just because there is no glamour & or film producer not giving monetary assistance to the website?
