Hope this article opens eyes of Kannada film haters. We got much talent which is evident from above article. Umashree lead actress in Gulabi talkies won Asia - Osanisa awrd long before winning national award for the film. That speaks abundant talent we have

Yes, kannada has talent, but no sense. Because, all the masses hate Kasaravalli kind of films, all they need is time pass stuff and hot girls on screen. Thats the reality. Go to any theatre in Bengaluru, you would find these mass guys going around women and asking for more mass movies. So sad, Kannada will take long long time to come to Tamil or North. If whatever I have told is wrong, go to any single screen in Bengaluru and see the guys and watch them in theatre....so rubbish....and these cases are increasing day by day...even Mr.Kasaravalli will agree....

Films like Gulabi Talkies with not run in any Talkies for even a day in Bengaluru.....what will do with the talent?

You are right, its not to humilate my fellow people, I simply hate going to any theatre in majestic area with family (I mean female members of family), this is one area which needs some improvement - hope this will also get corrected eventually.

u mean to say other language films does not have skin show, vulgarity, sex and mass appeal...come on then u have not watched telugu, tamil and hindi movies. If at all if u want some story means u need to watch a kannada movie. To pull the audience kannada has to produce mass movie which attracts ppl who watch and like other language movies.

You got me wrong Jayanna. I am a great fan of Raj Kumar Sir, Girish Karnad, Shankar Nag, Girish Kasaravalli to name a few great talents of Kannada region. Bengaluru is a cult city, with most intellectual people from all over the country. Its the best Indian cosmopolitan contemporary city.

But, most places are ruled by hooligans and masss people now a days. Go out and see. Fights, politics, rowdism, bribery, and all. Bengaluru should stand as an example, and I am sure it will.

When it comes to films, sadly audience really dont appreciate much of stuff which makes sense. Good work in Kannada gets appreciation elsewhere, in the days of Raj Kumar Sir and Shankar Nag we found that people within Kannada region had the bend towards art and used to appreciate films. Now, its mostly focused on commercialism and money making. See for yourself, read newspapers, go to a single screen, see the people. Dont you wish to bring a change to 'YOUR' Bengaluru? Why should you HIDE from reality?

In Chennai or Hyderabad there are mass people too, more than Bengaluru, but class films get accepted and appreciated by most. In Begaluru, the class people dont care for good films, films are trash for class people here. Go educate them and ask them to appreciate thier very own 'Girish Kasaravalli'.

Rahul,
"most places are ruled by hooligans and masss people now a days. Go out and see. Fights, politics, rowdism, bribery, and all. " --> This is true to any city of India (I have been to almost all major cities in the country and seen attitude of local people which is common to all parts of india)

* Bengaluru should stand as an example" --> Yes all of us would like this happen.

* "sadly audience really dont appreciate much of stuff which makes sense." --> Again true to almost all the films made in India.

* " in the days of Raj Kumar Sir and Shankar Nag we found that people within Kannada region had the bend towards art and used to appreciate films" --> There is always ups and downs for every film industry and Kannada film industry is no different (In general).

* "Dont you wish to bring a change to 'YOUR' Bengaluru? Why should you HIDE from reality? " --> Who is hiding what? All film industries are exposed isn't?

* "In Chennai or Hyderabad there are mass people too, more than Bengaluru, but class films get accepted and appreciated by most." --> To some extent true but i can count so many classy movies being rejected by telugu and tamil people. Besides, who is gonna decide whats class and whats mass?

* Last but not least --> You think Telugu and tamil people like if Girish Kasaravalli makes similar art movies in their language? The answer is big "NO WAY"

-Shri
