Akki has guts to play variety of roles not just being a fun film hero got into serious acting in Tasveer, Tashan apart from action filled CCTC. Now Blue with underwater sequences he should be praised for doing different acts not being AAaaaaa nutty SRK types who just play romantic even after 50

Unlike the 60s,70s and early 80's, bollywood is going to dogs now. There is no value, concept, moral, story, acting...its become more of a template being used in most of the movies. There wud be a song in disc in almost all d movies with the beats, rythm being the same. What I have noticed is atleast south movies have retained some of qualities, if u watch some of the movies in malayalam, kannada and telugu off late, they are inspiring. Lets not blame AkshayKumar, its the script and the money hungry team that is responsible for the poor quality of movies in bollywood. Also, we must agree that earlier teams of bollywood movie making had a passion which is lacking now.
i had watched these on dvd and pretty good watch lying on sofa, obviously not in theatre. all this critic bashing is bs. they have there opinion and so does every individual have. watch akki movies for fun and enjoy. if you liked singh is kingh then no reason why you will not like these two movies.
When you read these interviews, you come away with the impression that the Mumbai film industry thinks the audience will lap up anything thrown at them if they were to mix up some stunts and jazz it up a bit. The movie going audience has evolved a lot since the formula films of the 70's which rode to sucess based on solid scripts, excellent music and Bachhan pulling it along. When will they realise that story matters the most? As far as AK's assertion of an underwater treasure hunt, a faintly parallel theme was attempted in SAMRAT way back in the early 80's. The movie bombed. If stunts is what matters, why not see a circus or the latest version of Cirque Du Soleil or the Disney versions of Planet earth? All over the web AK mentions how the sharks were out to get him etc. I am sure the stuntmen in the hindi film industry go through death defying stunts for a pittance day in and day out. While AK definitely has a track record of having given hits, one would think based on his last 2-3 duds, he should let BLUE work itself out first. Better to keep expectations lower and deliver higher.
