Vishnu is nearing two hundred films and only thirty to forty films are remakes. But see how Darshan, Puneet, Sudeep, Uppi and Ganesh are crazy about remakes. Next two films of Puneet (Raam and Nododigal remake), Darshan (Porki and Shouryam remake), Sudeep (Kichcha Huchcha and S.Narayan's film) and forthcoming release of Ganesh (Ullasa Uthsaaha) are remakes. Even other lead artists like Vijaym Prem, Ajay and Sreenagara Kitty are doing remakes. Vishnu is doing lesser number of remakes now. His last two films (Maathaad Mathaad Mallige and Nam Yejamaanaru) and his two next films (School Master and Aaptha Rakshaka) are original films. Only prejudiced minds can say Vishnu is doing more number of remakes. Why till five years ago Shivaraj Kumar was acting in many remake films. People should look at these things with objectively. Vishnu has done remakes which have lifted the morale of the Kannada film industry like Yajamaana, Suryavamsha, Sirivantha, Simhadhriya Simha and others. Janakiram.
The reviewer has loads and loads of sympathy towards stale foods which by no means are constructive and encouraging for industry.If this actor has world records of remakes and in fag end of career does this sort of cheap movies,the scribes must not support it to core as it send wrong signals to other remake warriors like darshan,uppi,sudeep,vijay ,etc. The reviewer is not in constructive moods always.

How many?Puneeth hardley makes remake..and he s atleast 30 yrs junior to Vishnu...i think ter r only 3 remake movies in Puneeth's career...

Appu movie was cool...it s remade into Telugu as Idiot and Tamil as Dum...And Arasu was also good...

So final word is remake culture is there everywhere.so why blame Kannada industry alone.
somebody said dinesh baboo remakes malayalam movies into kannada..for u r information..he directed only 2 remakes in his entire career..and he also remade his kannada movie Amritha varshini into Malayalm as Malavizhu...for the debate everybody r welcome...i can give any proof to convince u...

You are right. Dinesh Baboo is a good Cameraman and a decent Director. He made Suprabhata and Hendtige helbedi. They were very good movies. It is wrong to condemn Remakes. When people of Karnataka don't get to see good Malayalam movies, remakes will be good. In Hindi Bachchan, SRK and even Aamir Khan have acted in remakes. Do you know the much acclaimed but flop movie 'Paheli' of SRK was heavily influenced by Gireesh Karnad's Kannada Classic "Naga Mandala'? And again SRK's 'Swades' idea was borrowed from Kannada movie 'Marali Mannige'? But 'Swades' was a much better movie than the Kannada original.

Ofcourse Dinesh Baboo is a Malayali, who is permanently settled in kannada film industry and remakes Malayalam movies into kannada.
