My friends who saw the film in Kerala say that Sharath Kumar as Kunkan Nayar is the real hero of the film and he has stolen the limelight from Mammooty hands down.
Maybe it is due to the fact that the thalapathy is always in the forefront during a war and the king plays a secondary role.
Anyway, i am sure the film will do well in Tamil Nadu

I would like to put it like this way. Sarath Kumar is doing the Perfroming Role. As an Actor in the Screen, he has lot advantage when he does the Performing Role. But, the Film and story focussed on Pazhassi Raja.Some movies will be like that only. Mammooty's stunning personality as a King is onother high light in the movie.However, A Great Film fm MT-Hariharan-Mammotty after Vadakkan veeragatha

You are right. That is becasue the king is not famous for his fight. He is famous for his intelligence and negotiation skills for brining people from different communities together to fight against the british. And I tell you, when It comes to fight scenes, Sarath Kumar rocks, since he is leading from front!!!
rediff does not anything about south india it seems, the headding of articles says Mohanal, but Picture is of Mammotty. inside the article they say Mammotty and sarath kumar. Sheer ignorance of South is reflected once again.

The Movie Stars Mammotty and SarathKumar..Mohanlal is there for Intoducing the Story only..that also only for 2 minutes.... So this will be Done by Kamalhaasan in Tamil and Sharukh Khan in Hindi..and this news is out this september ..so its almost 3 months:)
