Great!
by mayank jain on Nov 12, 2009 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

I hv seen this movie in Delhi n it was a never seen before experience for me. N i am happy that this movie got what it deserves. Being a North Indian i hv a very less knowledge of Telugu so i want to watch it agian with subtitles or Hindi dub version.

I wish if any Bollywood director remake it in Hindi than he should take only Ram Charan Teja as his style n screen presence in the movie is Impeccable... Three cheers to the Movie n the entire team.

Sorry Vijay if i let u down. But i m not sorry for what i write. I like the movie so its just a gesture from my side. N i m open to learn the language if ur ready to teach me... R u game?

N i dont know what is ur problem with North Indians n u might be superior to us but superiority should show in what u write here which is sadly missing. But its ok, u might had some bad experience n for that i m sorry.

Mayank, the problem is that people like you are a rare breed in north. I have numerous friends and acquaintances from north india and they dont seem to be exhibiting an aptitude to learn anything other than hindi. Also everyone thinks bollywood is some far superior film industry and south movies are crap. You need not feel sorry for the bad experiences inflicted by others.

I think you must check AVM production house and Geetha Arts about the collection details. It looks to me Magadheera has surpassed Shivaji records as it was quite evident in Karntakta even after 15 weeks it was running with packed houses. Shivaji after 4 weeks empty in theatre halls.

by cooclkannadigas on Nov 12, 2009 03:55 PM  | Hide replies

Rajini's Sivaji ran for 5o days in 850 theatres this is an all india film record .
it ran for 100 days in U.S.,SFRICA,SLANKA. MALAYSIA ,SINGAPORE ...ETC. MAGADHEERA RUN ONLY IN AP and bangalore. sivaji was veru big hit . only the oscar ravi was shouting dasa collected 500 crore ,1000 crore but it was only a hype. dasa managed run for 100 days in 19 theatres only.but magadheera in 226 theatres.

sivaji infact is still the benchmark for south indian box office. i agree with madgi raja. the movie infact grossed more than Rs.150 cr in only the india territory. imagine the overseas collections. this author has listed wrong facts here. even today if u list top 10 south indian grossers u will find sivaji, padayappa, chandramukhi, forget this list u will get only names of tamil movies.

the fact that movies like dasavatharam which have a very deep philosophy and science involved have run successfully in TN shows the maturity of the audience.
How many movies can you name in telugu which have such a strong storylines. You guys dub all the good movies coming out in tamil and claim telugu makes good movies.
btw, why am i even arguing with u, go google and see that of the 10 ten places in india that have the highest appeal for cinema, the first nine are places from AP, and the 10th one is madurai ( TN).
Everyone in india knows he telugu people are the most crazy movie goers.

its budget was 130 crores and it made profits. So how can magadheera (100 cr) be the second highest grosser after ghajini ( 200 cr)

dasa was not big hit as sivaji was also dasa was far lower budget than sivaji. even today any hit tamil movie colections is compared with sivaji ,( sivaji is benchmark for any south indian cinema ) so sivaji is a landmark in boxoffice for south india.

sivjaji collected 65 cr in TN and given its budget was close to 100 cr, it wud have grossed much more. And dasa's budget is 130 cr and was in profit zone. So there is no way magadheera can be second highest grosser in india.

Dumbo, what was the story line in ghajini(tamil version). it was all screenplay and nothing else. I enjoyed watching ghajini and also magadheera. Ultimately it is the feel good factor that counts once you leave the theatre. For that matter, kandhasamy and anniyan were touted as biggest hits in tamil. Where was the story line ? Nil.
