Pritam`s music will be liked during a temporary period. But 10 years down the line, nobody will remember that music. Because there is no melody. He is more like viju in terms of music, viju has given some of the nations biggest chartbusters. Jatin lalit, anand milind, LP, anu malik, viju shah and others music will be sorely missed. And the amount of work he is doing shows that his life span of his music is limited.

time will prove if you are correct or wrong...give enough time to someone before coming to final decision.

Pritam is a fake music director. He will fall flat at AR Rahman's feet. No point in defending a duplicate and the original is what matters.

Pritam cannot be compared to A R Rahman
by Hemanth Deshmukh on Nov 10, 2009 06:46 PM

Pritam and Rahman have different styles of working if you've read more about them.
Pritam works in quantities and hence lifts in larger quantities too whereas Rahman prefers to work at his own pace and takes time developing each song of his. He is more concerned about what he delivers to his listeners and fans. He may be inspired by western music sometimes but definitely has lots of talent within him to have proved himself again and again. Rahman is his own competition and cannot be compared to any other Music director in India and now worldwide. Pritam's motto seems to be "Let me grab the maximum work and moolah, make hay while the sun shines at any cost". So, folks, dont compare the 2, they both are commercially viable, talented and successful in their own ways. The guy who spoke about ARR copying, lets have some proof of the pudding buddy if you really know what you are saying.About people saying Pritam copying, lets agree that we enjoy his music when it sounds better than the original and let the man do his job, earn his bread. Its a known fact now that he copies. :)

In every profession copy-paste and modification is there
by tejas gandhi on Nov 10, 2009 06:16 PM  | Hide replies

Not sure why the below gentlemen are shouting for copy-cat and originaluty issue. Every person in any profession does copy-paste and modification.Be it in music or film direction or in script. Many so called great music and films in India has been made by modifying western or some or other regional original scores. So it is baseless to claim who is original and who is not. If you say AR Rahman is original then you must be an ardent supporter of him and not honest in your opinion. But that does not make him no less than a great music director like RD Burman or Naushad because you an me can not create those scores just by listening to some other music. So the discusiion point is baseless here.

Glorifying a sore loser
by mohit anand on Nov 10, 2009 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

rediff always does a good job in glorifying sore losers and cheaters, be it novel writers or musicians. Preetam hasn't come out with even one single tune which is his own, they are all lifted tunes from Malaysia, Thailand, etc.

hey mr music expert Mohit....tell me a musician's name who does not lift?? your great AR does it too.... besides Pritam has just started his career and has lot of time to prove his so called originality. Do not simply write off someone because he is not T. Wait and watch and even after enough days you still think same as today then we can analyze how much correct you are.
Also rediff does glorify anyone as they glorify the greatest joke of movie call Rajnikant who is in front page without any acting skills....

90's music is the best
by RINU JACOB on Nov 10, 2009 06:13 PM  | Hide replies

Well....admit Pritam is a talented music director, even though he copies a lot. He has produced some really foot tapping numbers. But I still beleive that 90s music rocks, where the era of ANU MALIK, NADEEM SHARAVAN, JATIN LALIT, ANAND MILIND, NIKIL VINAY etc existed.

They have given some sweet melodious numbers where these music directors lacks. No one can never sing these kind of party songs or will never remember. Anu Malik & Nadeem Shravan are the best. Pritam can never match them nor these recent stupid music directors.
