Ranbir

Some people (I remember Karan Johar does call him that for sure) in the hindi film industry call him the latest hearthrob. He is less than average looking guy.

People like KJ create this buzz in the media to promote their camp people.

He is one of the people who started this ' King Khan', 'Badshah of Bollywood' and all.

Whether or not SRK pays the highest tax or whether Salman has pending cases against him for any reason, these factors plus many more occurrences will not make Blue a hit. I am not into whether or not Akki is a good or bad actor or whether I like him or not. But nothing changes the fact that Blue is a flop. So what if it is a flop, Akki fans can keep liking him. In the South, people do not get flummoxed in case a Mohan Lal or Mammotty or Kamal or Rajini's film fails. They know about the quality of the star they are fans of. Now true Akki fans will not get bothered by these jibes.

I too do not like SRK but his film OSO and I saw MHN on Big TV were both clean and neat, although he over-portrayed his body-building and also did not look too good when performing stunts in the climax of MHN. But both films can be seen and enjoyed by one with anyone, be it family or friends. Of course, for me SRK is not one-tenth of an actor Amir is (he works too hard and is a student of the medium unlike SRK who is a bit more business-oriented), but SRK usually does clean movies, even if I for one avoids most of them. I love to hate KKHH, Mohabbatein, KANK but love Baazigar, but though Bhootnath etc. was rotten. As they say horses for courses. As for Akki I thought he was too soft for his character in Blue, he should have come across a bit more brash in the movie, what with underwater shoots, motorboat races etc., but he was more brash in the dance with Kylie. No wonder the movie is a flop.

That is because all the best had 3 big stars i.e ajay , sanjay and bipasha.2 small stars ie mugdaha , fardeen , jhonny lever had costly sets and was made on a bigger budget than ajab gajab. so even if ajab gets a smaller opening than all the best it has better chances of being a hit. Not every movie needs to collect 50 crores to be a hit.it is called economics .

sorry vanity,

Pls. remember that APKGK starring Kat and Ranbir is probably not even a week old. It was released only on Friday and today is the 5th day of the movie boss. So if according to you its earning is 10 crs. (till date) then obviously its average is 2 crores per day... that means 14 crores per week. Mind you it is not a big budget movie like Blue was or like movies of Karan Johar or Yash Chopra. Ranbir's Wake Up Sid was not a hit in India though it did good business in Multiplexes and abroad. So that does not make him a big star and hence he is not to be regarded as an expensive actor. Even Katrina while commanding a decent sum is not known to be charging exhorbitant sums. I mean to convey that the movie did not cost too much. Certainly not more than 20-25 crores. Remember SRK's OSO was sold to EROS for 40 crs. So the verdict that it is a hit is an "earnings estimate" of the movie expected to break even (at least) by next week in case it keeps up the same level of earnings. That really may not be but certainly this movie will be expected to run for around 5 weeks and break even by third week certainly and give a good commission and profit in its runs beyond the 3rd week. After all boss, it HAS to gain because its main rival, Aladdin is a big flop (with shows being cancelled even) and other hits like All The Best are on their last legs. In fact a couple of theatres screening Aladdin are expected to move over to APKGK!!!!! Then there'll be its overseas earnings too!!
