Bachchan, the greatest ?! No, to me.
by Surekha Tenneti on Nov 15, 2009 07:59 PM  | Hide replies

Bachchan is indeed a superb versatile actor- among the best the world has produced. But how on earth can you ignore 2 stupedous stars- one, Bachchan acknowledges he's learned from, and theother, his contemporary- I'm speakingof Dilip Kumar and Naseeruddin Shah.

A great pity the young of today are unaware of the unbelievable range of his acting- pathos, comedy, buffoonery, romance, tragedy, slapstick-name it, Dilip Kumar has done it to enthral viewers. You of allpeople, shd not forget that Mr Sen !

As for Naseer, he, like Balraj Sahni, is the single actor who just gets into the character of the role he plays, and does not remain Naseer anymore.

Bachchan, for all his talent, cannot leave his own persona behind- proud, fearless, energetic, gritty eyes and all.

BIGB never learned acting from anyone....and he is thousand times better actor than dilip kumar...just becoz he respected dilip doent mean that dilip is better actor than amitabh...as far as best actor is concerend there may be a debate about who is better actor.....bigb's fan following is unmatched and but if someone really considers his performance as a STAR, ACTOR and TVHOST he has been incredible...no other perosn can come close to him

Rajesh Khanna - The Original Super Star of Indian Cinema
by V Manohar on Nov 10, 2009 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

AB is fake actor of Indian Cinema doing all manipulation.

Rajesh Khanna - The Greatest Living Legend & the real and only Super Star of Indian Cinema till today.

There are romantic leading men and there are romantic leading men, but very few have taken cinematic love to legendary heights. While there might be other icons but Super-Star- Actor Rajesh Khanna after four decades, he is the ultimate true romantic legend.

Rajesh khanna was a great star no doubt about it....even in acting he was good...but whats the point of comparison???...just to proove that bigb is nothing infront of rajesh khanna??..

i am not dennying that he is perhaps the most romantic star and legend but what the point of caling AB as fake actor??.....have you seen movies like AANKHEIN, KHAKEE, BLACK, VIRUDHH, BAGHBAN, SARKAR, DEV, AKS, MAIN AZAAD HUN, SHARABI, PARWANA, DEEWAR, SHOLAY, SATTE PE SATTA etc.? Can you proove that Rajesh khanna would have acted better than BIGB in those movies?

The Rajesh Khanna magic lasted less than 10 years, before a combination of factors saw his star dim. By the mid 80's he was a has been, whereas Amitabh was in his prime for a longer period. The 90's saw the eclipse of Amitabh, but the man reinvented himself brilliantly to even reach out to contemporary audiences. Rajesh Khanna is today a pathetic washout. He was great, but Amitabh has a better range.

Mr pandey ,

Amitabh always remained away from media during his peak years of career.....and you are talking of manipulating media??...unlike todays so called superstars amitabh never manipulated media during his hey days.....he worked in an era where he never showed insecurity working with other actors...it was an era of multistarrers but movies always had amitabh as biggest stardriving force....and at the same time he gave some of the biggest solo hits like sharaabi, mr natwarlal, zanjeer, coolie,don.....

and amitabh illness took the nation by storm becoz he had millions of fans worldwide........looks like you are very uncomfortable with that....not everyone can be amitabh.........success was never easy for amitabh.....but loosers like you who are srkfanatics tryinmg to become pseudo intellectual here wont understand that

Mr./Ms. Krishnaji--
I was a college student at that time and do not hide the manipulation of media by Amitabh any more. Can you explain why in Amar Singh's Birthday news papers publish photo of Amitabh praying for Amar Singh and there is no Amar singh in picture. Dilip Kumar or Dharmendra were also hospitalised, why updates about them were not published by the stupid media. The media portrays him as one man industry but he took support of Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Sanjiv Kumar in the past and SRK, Akshay, Sanjay Dutt, etc. presently. Above all the solo hit film mentioned by you are categorised as cheap masala chalu type film. Does one man industry should produce such garbage films in his career.

Mr Pandey,

your post is out of sheer frusutration just becoz rajesh khanna never had fan following like amitabh...you are using that excuse to malign amitabh.....read my post what i wrote...i said amitabh never used media when he was at his peak.....infact media banned him for more than 16 years...do you even know that?..INSPITE OF MEDIA BAN DURING 70S AND 80S FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD PRAYED FOR HIM WHEN HE GOT ACCIDENT..wihout media help he ruled in 70s and 80s....i am not sure about amar singh thing becoz that is different issue....you are trying to convolute everything just becoz you are frustrated with bigb...even rajesh khanna as a congress mp have appeared on newspaper for various reasons...but that is a non issue...and regarding quality movies, you should watch movies like Saudagar, Main Azaad hun, abhimaan, Alaap,Do anjaane Bemisaal, Parwana, Majboor, Manzil, Barsat ki ek raat, Mili,Black, sarkar,Cheeni kum, Virudhh, Baghban etc..to know what is the meaning of acting...and yes also wait for PAA....your Rajesh khanna is not even 50 percent of bigb in acting as well as stardom.....forget about acting even as TV hots presenter i a sure khanna will be nowhere infront of him...better show your frustration somewhere else...the media portayred him one man indusrtry becoz he was the biggest driving force at box office...if you are trying to say that shashi kapoor, sanjeev, dharmendra etc were bigger stars than him in late 70s and 80s then i cant say anything....

Kudos for directors also for showing faith in him
by NITIN SRIVASTAVA on Nov 07, 2009 01:13 AM

Credit should be given to the new generation directors also who took bigb in their movies in his second innings....unlike working in "safe camps" Bigb never hesitated to work with different directors like Rajkumar Santoshi,Karan Johar, David Dhawan, Rituparnio Ghosh, Rakesh mehra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Balki, Aditya CHopra, Sujoy GHosh, Ramgopal verma, Vipul Shah, Mahesh Majrekar, Sanjay Gupta, Vidhu chopra, etc....No wonder directors like Priyadarshan, meera nair and leena yadav have taken bigb for their future projects
