Kishore cannot be better than Rafi Saheb, note this. Rafi saheb is miles and miles ahead. Rafi Saheb, the voice of millenium.

I know everytime you come with same baseless argument. This comment was totally uncalled for and out of context. And you will now come and tell us that KK has more fans. And I wonder how much you know about Rafisaab to make such childish comment. Is there anyone in the whole world who can really 'judge' the likes of Rafisaab and Kishoreda? Its just your personal favorite you are talking about and none needs your opinion to know who was great ;)
After Rafi it is Kishore- Rafi wins by a slight margin simply because of the range he possessed. Have you heard Rafi in some songs - the high notes he pulled ? I doubt if Kishore could. But in Kishore's favour he had that full body heavy set voice which gave many memorable hits. But Like Lata it is Rafi only and then like Asha it is Kishore only.

Nazir, you are 100% correct...Kishore is a great singer, a legend, no one can ever take his place. But RAFI was by far more talented, his songs always touched and he can sing anything, any kind of song, qawali, classical, pop, soft rock
Some of his memorable ones Tum jo mil gaye ho Yeh duniya yeh mehfil Mein yeh soch kar us ke dar se Na jatko zulf se paani, Likhe jo khat tujhe, Tu hi woh haseen hai and list continues
Some of his not so popular ones but great Din hain yeh bahar ke.... Ek khoobsurat larki mujhe raat ko mili thi Allah tere saath hai Har zara yahan chand Jaane kahan dekha hai and etc.....
Nagesh K appears to fit in quite well in Bollywood. I like the way he conviniently blames "reasons beyond his control" for the failure of his last film (Tasveer). I wonder what went wrong with the one before Tasveer- Bangkok whatever - were there forces beyond his control at work there as well? Lets face it sir, these were pointless exercises in mediocrity and nothing would have saved it!
I hope Mr K returns to his basics (low budget films) before taking on large scale projects that have thus far failed him. I hate to see someone like him fade away into obscurity ....
I think Amitkumar will be best choice for the roll of Kishorda. He acted in several films, also a nice singer and now his face looks like kishorkumar in forties. He even know kishorda since childhood.

Ki-shor-e cannot be greater than Rafi Saheb. World knows. Ok, Kishore was a nice singer, but the BEST is Rafi Saheb.

thats the quality of Rafi Saab, that every tom dick and harry try to compare any other singer to him...Rafi is the bench mark in Singing, and every one wants to compare their favourite singers to him, saying that Kishore, Mukesh or Manna dey are better THAN Rafi..but when Rafi is described, he's not at all compared, coz he THE BEST.. there was/is/will be no one better than Rafi...

Interesting FACT! When it comes to KK, Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor, they are always compared to Rafi. But Rafisaab was never compared! You always compare things with something better ;)

Beg your pardon dear! 2 corrections - 1. Rafisaab ruled for no less than 7 decades - right from his first song to till date. There was no one in between who really 'ruled'. 2. Others might have ruled BO, but HE ruled billions of hearts.

I really dont agree to Mohd. Rafi "ruling" the BO for 20 yrs...its just that he got a bit too lucky!!!!

U r right mr Chandra...I too don't agree Rafi Saab ruling the BO or Bollywwod or the Singing for 20 years.... coz he ruled more than that, infact he still rules.....even 27 years after his death....he lives in our souls, hearts...u can say that Kishore was a bit lucky that he got RD burman....if there was no RD then there was no KK...KK was dependent on RD...but that was not the case with RAFI...every MD/actor depended upon Rafi..even RD burman got famous coz of Rafi...just listen to songs of Teesri Manzil...RD got famous coz of Teesri Manzil..way before Aradhana came...in 50's and 60's every actoror music director got fame coz of Rafi....in that every MD/actor was lucky that they got RAfi....even Rafi sang for Kishore...Kishore was Lucky!!!!
It is wonderful to note that Kukunoor is still trying to get this film on Kishore Da off the drawing board and get a good look alike like Shreyas Talpade to play the protagonist! If ever any playback singer deserved a film it is none other than Kishore Da who is such a versatile and sadly undervalued personality of Indian cinema. Our stereotyped and compartmentalising mindsets have made him a joker rather than a genius that he should be admired as!
If made well, it will be an evergreen collectors' item for Kishore fans, who are cutting across generations the world over. Actually it is Dada's songs which have been re-mixed the maximum and it goes to prove that the youngsters of today too like listening to him.
After the last few debacles, hope Nagesh gets this piece on the master right and create a masterpiece like his first movie. It would be sad if something sloppy is made on the fairly complex life of a genius. However, Shreyas might do justice to capture the eccentricity of Kishore Kumar with the undercurrent of poignancy. It is very easy to land up with a ludicrous comedy on Kishore, who is more famous for his odd demeanour. But to capture the true psyche of a musical talent and depict real life characters in a fictional format would be a huge challenge for Nagesh and looking into his increasing incline towards "sasta" commercialism, I think he is heading for serious criticisms. Directors like Sudhir Mishra, Prakash Jha, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Sandip Ray, Rituparno, Mani Rathnam might have done better. Anyway, all the best to the crew. Die hard fans of Kishore like me would be keen to watch this.
