She did say that her father is a singer & actor in Bengal after the 1st question but did'nt name him. Her mother is a terrific singer herself, very humble & has a huge range in her voice. I heard both Monali & her mother (forgetting her name) sing when they came for last year's Durga Puja function in Sec-50 Noida (Ghaziabad, U.P.). They were both very well appreciated. Her mother watched her carry on the show from amongst the audience once she finished singing herself & one could'nt miss how proud she felt of her (perhaps more famous daughter) & if you watch her sing you'll realise how much she enjoys it. Well done Monali...!! You are doing quite well for herself, hope you render more catchy songs in future.. Just remain grounded.
I wonder why this info came this late ? was Rediff sleeping all these days, you have time to provide C_Rap information...and not about this.. moreover, Monali is Indian Idol 2 contestant.. again a wrong info... Grow up Rediff :D !!!

knew her in her school days. was very good in western dance. was ok at singing. she has done bit of acting as well. well done so far monali. keep it up!
Things are very different in the film industry .. need to adjust ...just a song for an year does not really matters ateast 50 songs a year is a good start for career
Although very sympathetic about the situation. Such situation sometimes leads to exploitation. Many strugglers who come to mumbai often fall victim to unscrupulous elements. When I worked at Andheri I frequented Gauri studio canteen which was close to my office. I have first hand seen the desperation and how some so called "Producers", "Directors" who talk big but wear plastic sandals fool these wannabe stars. So beware.
