Slums

All slums need to be cleared. Mumbai needs to be FREE OF SLUMS. It is a shame how these vote-hungry politicians encourage slums. This is a good move and I hope MANY MORE slums are demolished soon.

I agree that slums have to be demolished. But will you provide them shelter? Please dont give public opinions like this. Its a shame for you. I feel sorry to reply to you in this manner. The Govt has to takes steps to raise the standard of living of India. Where is all the Tax that we pay go? The Govt has to cut their luxury life & help the people of India.

Didn't the Producer pay this guy for acting?
by C on May 15, 2009 10:54 AM

Did they give these slum kids any fees for their work? Or is this another case of exploitation? Or did they give them peanuts for all the fame they gave these producers & directors?
Surely they could have been given enough to buy a flat somewhere? Other actors get paid in Crores! Shame!

I think it was illegally built by the family after the success of the child on govt land, so it was brought down....You can see that by the building material lying down scatterred in the photographs... I think nobody is above law...

Ultimately illegal is illegal!

It doesn't matter whether you are a nobel laureate or Oscar winner, if you are doing something illegal, you have to pay the price. And this kid's family are made to pay the same.

It's easy to talk about such things very lightly. Look at the lousy Dance of the Democracy (silly caption given to the General elections by Times of India), do you think all those MP candidates are paying the price for all the illegal things they do? If you have guts answer to this honestly!
