Many people would be interested in knowing the reasons for selecting Surinder Kapoor for the Dadasaheb Phalke award. From the surface it looks like he doesn't deserve this award.

I know!!!!!!! I patiently read the entire thing, not leaving a word out to know what exactly he has done to deserve the award. I couldn't find a thing!! There are many many more deserving people. Which fool has chosen him for the award!?
Because some people are buying those awards for social status. Can anyone in this remember any movie that Surinder kappor produced is worthy of Dadasaheb Phalke. This is SAD.
I wonder what would the award presenter in his speech would mention about Surinder Kapoor's achievement.
Sonam didnt visit her own grandfather when he was at Boney's? What? This family is well screwed up. And they are a part of the Kapoor khaandaan. Bollywood just isnt for newcomers is it. Nepotismwood! Bakwaas!

Well India is going back to the 12th century as far as politics and bollywood is concerned. It is going back to feudalistic age. Look at all the Sachin Pilot, that Mulayam's kid, jyoti scindia, supriya pawar. Without any merit they are given ticket to contest election. Where as a general party worker has to wait for ages before he is given party ticket to contest election.
When I went through this column,I was wondering what made the so called jury to choose this man as the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He himself confesses that he wasn't interested in the movie world, got into the film world due to his cousin Prithviraj Kapoor. When he was the asst director of a prestigious movie like Mughal-e-Azam,he spent more time playing cards n later left the movie mid-way (maybe they kicked him out).. Later using an actress he became a producer n he himself confesses that he was an unsuccessful producer.Actually the column wasn't ready mention any of his movies other than his debut movie.
Only contributions to the film world were his sons...out of which Boney Kapoor (a person looking out for remakes {mainly from south}), Anil Kapoor (a decent actor) & Sanjay Kapoor (a flop actor)... if U consider a man who was an unsuccessful producer n played cards during his asst director days n only only the basis of his sons n friends in the industry, Rakesh Roshan would have been a better choice (readers can come up other fathers :D)
n about getting ready with a speech...I am sure the people who is hosting the ceremony will b having that head-ache more than him..a speech on his so called contributions.
n finally - DADASAHEB PHALKE won't forgive the jury for adding this man into that elite list.
I dont know why he is given phalke award. what did he do, e was f.u.c..i.ng arround. I just dont know how they select people for the award. He talks so stupidly. To me he seems like a dumb man. Anilkapoor was telling he is the son of he slum. It looks like every guy born with a silver spoon in his mouth wants a rags to riches story.
how a novice like sonam can be compared to legendary like Anil? Anil is truly a great actor, his acting skills till date remains unmatched. sonam still has to go a long way to be of her fathers standard.

Sonam has a very cheerful and original style of acting. Why should it be a botheration if a daughter is compared to a father? No father would mind if his children overtake him!

If Anil Kapoor is a thrid class actor, who do u think can act in bollywood? Anil Kapoor is probably one of the most versatile actors of our generation. Anyways, everyone has an opinion and I respect that. Anyways Surinder Kapoor doesn't deserve Dada Phalke Award and the whole jury should be fired for making this blunder.
