Robert Langdon

Dan Browne had described Robert Langdon as athletic, tall, slim with brown hair that was about to turn grey. He could still swim laps around the men he taught. And we've got an aging Tom Hanks portraying the academic swashbuckler.

Mel Gibson, anyone?

A certain extent of charm is lost when words are put into images . The same happened with Jason bourne series of novels..the books were captivating but movies sucked.

Hope this time arnd it compares up with the book.

C'mon..Bourne movie series were excellent, and so was LOTR. Yes, agreed that the DaVinci code didnt turn out to be a good movie, but we can always look forward to directors like Ron Howard!

Correct. Da Vinci movie should have been made into an intriguing movie wherein the audience should have been teased with the problems. Ron Howard didnt do that. He simply rushed through the movie. Now I have read Angels and Demons and this is about five mystery problems. I am not sure Ron Howard intends to involve the audience in the mystery. Rather he concentrates on the thriller and violence aspect.

In the bourne books the jason bourne was aging... in the bourne ultimatum(book) he was 57.... and the total plot was changed....

but in da vinci code.... the film was pretty much what the book was... the small differences were somewhat fathomable... coz u cant convert a book to a film and the hero had milder point of views coz the catholics were all nuts on the movie...

but jason bourne books are time pass books...so-so nothing much but the vinci code(book) is excellent.....

of all the novels made to films, only Lord of The Rings did justice to the writer

I would always prefer to read the book again than watch Da vinci code again. The book was just amazing.

yes, with due regards to Ron Howard, Da Vinci Code the movie wasn't as captivating as the novel. Such comparisons are bound to arise though.

Agree fully. Angels was much better in terms of content, mystery as well as research into the Vatican and Christiandom than Da Vinci Code. Also the amalgamation of science with religion was too good. Much better than Da Vinci Code in all aspects except probably the last part where professor Langdon is thrown out of the chopper and still survives
