This film is remake of Kannada film Nagamandala. Actress Vijayalakshmi & Prakash Rai has got the awards for best actor & best actress. Even singer Sangeetha Katti has got national award for her song " E Hasiru Hasiralli"

Videsh is a typical masala serious film.
It has all the ingredients of a wannabe film that wants to be taken seriously and travel through some obscure festivals.
Too bad, there is hardly any novelty in the story.
