Copper Beeches

I remember her from the 'Copper Beeches' episode of the amazing Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes series playing Violet Hunter. She sure breathed life in character and audience connected immediately with her. I learnt that she debuted as an actor in that episode. A sad loss indeed.

Natasha Richardson will really be missed. She was a fantastic actress and apparently a loving wife and mother.

do YOU harbor an inferiority complex, gaurav? i think u do.. an actress died a tragic death, it was posted in the 'movies' section, and ppl posted their condolences. but YOU, you have read it this way:
" a 'western' actress has died. it has appeared on an indian website. indians are giving condolences. if an indian actor dies, it wont be on a western website. so i'm not gonna write anythin supportive n i'm gonna crib about every indian who did it." shows how much of an INFERIORITY complex you have!!!
most ppl hear havnt heard about this actress. yet she's no more. its in our culture to pay respects. whether we know her or not becomes secondary.

i travelled in a train with a middle aged man. after exchangin a few sentences, he said ' i live with my children. my wife passed away last year'. i said,'oh.i'm so sorry.'

Does the man need my sorry? Is it going to change anything? Was there any issue if i dint say one? Here, in this case, will liam neeson n his kids read this page?
The answer to all these questions is, gaurav, NO! So, why are we doing it? Cuz, that's what we do. It aint gonna change nothing. Everyday, many ppl around us are dying. accidents, murders, bomb blasts, diseases, natural and wat not.

so does that mean, we should be hard-hearted n say" PPL DIE! GET USED TO IT???!!!"

westerners dont say sorry. so y should we do it.. is almost lyk.. u dint call me on my bday, so i purposely dint call u on yours..!!! GROW UP, KIDDO!! BE A MAN!!!

I don't post on these boards(I am a cinema tragic and imdb it is for me) but jerein joseph....You simply shouldn't have replied!I mean this gaurav cant e for real...either he is fooling around or is an all out troll because no one and I repeat no one in their right senses spurts out the kind of rubbish this idiot has done.I dont believe that he is uneducated or a villagemonger for his english is pretty sound to be written by a hillbilly. He is a troll wanting to get a kick out of situations.
and this is why I never ever come on these boards but Alas sometimes it becomes unbearable.

Is this the way you describe an article that has reported a death. I am not a rediff employee. Even I do not agree with few things of what rediff says. But to say that "only if it matters to India we will read" is totally rubbish. Fine tune your brain and heart.

people with a complex like yours forget the meaning of the term "human". well, to speak to you in your own terms, suppose an actor in the indian film industry had died, lets say someone who hasn't had much international exposure but some...do you think no person outside india would pay condolences? are you so overcome by the sickness of mind that has blown over the world, that makes your heart that of stone? and who made you the judge of a person whether he's a south indian or not, or if he's dark or not..we call white people racists, but guess what.. we're the biggest racists in the entire world....they have only black and white issues... we have a hundred..so WAKE UP!
the issue isnt a road accident, its the death of an actress who was liked and known,so stop making everything so personal.
more than rediff there are a dozen tv news channels that trivialize human life and spread stupidity on an everyday basis.
at least this article gave news that mattered to some.

Sir, Natasha Jane Richardson is quite well known for her films as well as her social work. Richardson helped raise millions of dollars in the fight against AIDS through the charity amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. Apart from the fact she was the daughter of well-known actress Vanessa Redgrave and wife of Irish actor Liam Neeson (Schindler's List), she has worked in successful TV productions like "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" and Ken Russell's 1987 movie "Gothic". I think the news of such a tragic end to a talent would affect any sensibility.

died in Manhattan hospital where she flown after suffering serous injuries in skiing accident.

It should be where she "was" flown

Initially, her injuries were not described as serious but about an hour later she complained of headache and was admitted to local hospital. Later she was flown to New York and admitted in a hospital Tuesday.

....but about an hour later she complained of headache and was admitted to "a" local hospital. Later she was flown to New York and admitted in a hospital "on" Tuesday.
