well it deserved all the five stars.. this one is a masterpiece.. a real pity though that very few know how good this music is. poor publicity?? and anuraag kashyap?? ;-)
After a long time, an album that truly different.. It grows on you after you listen to it a couple of times.. Need to really pay attention to the lyrics to appreciate this album.. Just makes you marvel at the ease with which the lyricist makes all the gory details in most songs sound so appealing.. Piyush Mishra, you really deserve a standing ovation.
Very few such movies have come out of bollywood. Realistic, Extremely lively, very powerful performances, Music very different from what we are served in run of the mill bollywood. Very contemporary context, engaging direction, Hats of to Anurag Kashyap and his team. Waiting for more gems from you. One thing to ponder though is, if this movie will get its due in terms of box office and awards? I don't think so .. both have a simple answer IMHO india voters love usual corny flicks, corny songs, corny actors (where their lineage and visage matter more than their performances). Kay Kay menon may be by far the best actors we have today .. but all media and us care about is the SRKs and the Akshays.. WTF guys
With hardly a single drawback why has the reviewer given just 3 stars?? I feel this track deserves at least 4.And rightly said, this isn't singing abt jeans and going na na na na na.If u dont pay attention to the words u would get lost and endup hating the songs. Dont look for music here, the poetry is the main fare here.
After Dev D - probably the best music of any movie in the last 2 years, this is a great follow up by Anurag Kashyap. Just brilliant. However, it is not suitable for those who like the sissy type of music of Yash Chopra and Karan Johar movies.
Now time of Anurag kashyap, the volcano of Talent, has arrived. He had to suffer a lot and was termed as jinx director, whose movies never see the daylight because he speaks truth so shockingly. But things changed when Supreme Court removed 4 years ban from his movie Black Friday...the best ever movie made over Mumbai riots. Those who watched it just became Kashyap fan.
Then he was rejected by viewers for No Smoking something really exceptionally crafted which people could not understand.
And then here comes DevD...completely erasing all versions of Devdas from your mind with excellent performances, cinematography, screenplay and absolute direction. I am happy now that Gulaal is releasing, a movie which too had no takers fearing jinxed image of Kashyap..has finally got people head turned. We hope to see the same with Panch someday.
The world listens Kashyap statement, an extraordinary tilent with no Mai Baap from bollywood. All on Own!
