His films are not availabel in the market. Or are they? I have seen Elipathayam and Kodiattam. When I chanced to meet him three years back, I asked him how do I get to see his films again. He hoped that somebody could buy the rights and distribute it in he market. I do not knoe how things are now. There is so much of video piracy now. Any mallu who can give me a pointer?

Definitely, Adoor is going to make a film based on the story of slums in India. It will show all the natural filth in a Slum and it's people. The cats, dogs, mice, cattles, sheeps, cockroaches, and what not, with sufferings of people.... Dharawi slum is also going to get another chance to be on the screen. His movies can never be an entertainer like the bollywood super star movies, but scenes from pizzing & shitting on waysides to life style and sufferings... It's going to be a wonderful movie for viewers at Indian & International film festivals.
Adoor was the true mallu who made sure the national awards go to his fellow mallus and not to anyone else.He was in the jury for ages and tried his best to bring Mallu filmdom to greatness. Unfortunately !!!!!!

I totall agree with you Jay Mohan! Slumdog would have never never won an oscar if it had been made by Indians. It is clearly overhyped. I have been watching Hollywood movies for 20 years and if i were to rank oscar winners in an order, Slumdog would be the very last in my list...

SLUMDOG has shown India as a dirty country to satisfy the dying and frustrated amercian economy. Some Indian fools who like to lick the westerners is falling prey to this oscar!! Some Indians are slaves of the whites and they will remain so!!!Some cant come and openly deny that SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is an average movie beacuse they fear a back lash from these majority slaves, who are either converted to western culture or in the process of converting!!! Have shame on you!, you slaves! Dont be hanging behind whitemans' xxx !!!

Mr Jayamohan , i would suggest u to remove that hypocritical shade that u r wearing when u wrote this message ! i would like to agree to the fact that SDM wouldn't have scored soo many oscars and golden globes if it was directed and produced by an Indian or asians ! that movie is not a masterpiece for sure and i felt its an oridinary movie with drama and suspense !BUT i dont agree with ur argument that India has been shown in a bad light in that movie and i dont think it was intentional !may be the writer and director could choose any other place other then india but i think they choose india b'cos we have the worlds largest Slums and its a fact! and we should accept it! its not just about the glamorous IT industry or fast growing economy and Military power SLUMS do exists and there are millions of people living in those miserable conditions right next to that glamorous cities of Mumbai/Delhi and other major cities in India , dont blame others for our failures ! it wont cost much to relocate these poor people if our politicians and bureaucrats start to work honestly with out eating up money through corruptions and bribes ! or if they try to keep funds in yearly budgets instead of modifying airports and renovating miniter's banglaw's ! its a shame that those yankees atleast tried to help those children by providing some funds for thier future education through a trust we have done NOTHING and still shouting at them for making a movie about our secret backyard!

thank God you are not given any authority to rank any movie. First of all you need some basic qualities to qualify for a Jury member.

Adoor made films better than 'slumdog' but the problem he is an Indian and never desort to India bashing in his films. You make something India Bashing and got it directed by a White Man and your film will definitely attracted by Western Award Committees. Adoor is happy with his national awards. I am sure he never call Indians slum dogs or balck dogs or something degrading for attracting Oscars.

Unlimited,
Your statement itself is an ample proof as to where your standing is. It is surprising that you have audacity to criticise people like Adoor. I hope, you would have same opinion on Satyajit Ray also, because if you see the films of Ray or Adoor, that will blow over your head and nothing will go inside.
Please do not comment on a topic on which you have zero knowledge.

Unlimited is unlimited madness or ignorance. or shall i say unlimited critic. Adoor was simply great. Now we know where we stand, we are divided. Slumdog nodoubt was made by a foreigner, but importance goes to the theme and the results. Adoor never won an Oscar, but AR Rahman and Resool won, and this guy is not mentioning their name coz he is just biased. AR Rahman is just fantastic and so is Resool, but does anybody know what is sound mixing????
Adoor's movies are best for sleepless persons. they don't want to take any pills for sleeping. see any of movies for 5mins, u'll fell to deep and calm sleep. min 8 hrs guarantee.

Adoor's films are meant for his job satisfaction and awards. who hears the sounds of a boring film?
Re: Re: sleeping pills

people like you should not watch Adoor's movies. You will not understand anything. You should watch only Rajani, MGR, Premnazir movies.

Film is a powerful visual medium and to appreciate its artistic value, one should have deep knowledge on films which obviously you lack. 99% of the populace lack such knowledge, and yet they spare no opportunity to criticise and evaluate a film, as if they are masters in that.
Adoor's films are not your cup of tea. Don't therefore, blame it on Adoor
A genius and a master together will create another History.
But one thing Pookuty reached the oscars, because it was a British Film originaly. Otherwise the Bollywood Loby will never allove a south Indian to reach there. - Movie maker Priyadharshan rightly said about this Once in a channel in an inerview.

Baby,
Kindly complete the sentence. he make a boring film from the point of view of my standards, because I know very little about the finer points of a film.
