Manorama Six Feet Under, Ek Chalis ki last local were good too. Different movies - I admire his conviction to act in such movies.

As Chin chu posted earlier the movie is yet another bollywood copy ripoff of a hollywood movie : Hollywood movie "She is the man!"
Plot:She's the Man is about Viola Hastings, a girl who's passion is Soccer. She then finds out that the Girl's Soccer Program gets canceled at her school. She then tries out for the guy's team, but they tell her that girls aren't good enough. So when Viola finds out that her fraternal twin brother, Sebastian is sneaking off to London for a music tour, instead of going to Illyria School, Viola decides that she can take his place, and pretend to be him, to be able to try out for their Soccer program. After a makeover and help from her friends, she gets to Illyria, but then finds that she likes her room mate, Duke. Things get messy when a girl who Duke likes falls for Sebastian, who is Viola in disguise. Everything falls apart when Sebastian goes home from London early, and things start to fall to pieces.

True in the end its talent that matters not looks otherwise bimbos like Nisha Kothari, Amrita Arora would be churning out hits. But C'mon Rani playing a sardar you think that is going to be a good movie?

I agree with u..it becomes boring after same type of costumes/dialogues/songs are repeated in many movies. Shahid seems to be locked in these types of roles only. Its not about being racist..but filmmakes have choice to show various cultures accross india..thru films..but they seem to get trapped in same stuff.

But an actor? day are not far when u will start seeing all our actors are droping cloths to attract audience. By the way are u gay?

its racist when you think only Punjabi's are good looking and the best lookers in India. Beauty lies in the eye beholder is true. Do you think your immediate family is not beautiful

I agree that Bollywood mainly has punjabi characters and the rest are caricatures of the rest of the cultures. Blame that on Yash Raj films the others just copy Yash Raj. I am all for unique stories and characters and cultures

not a handsome hunk, but many good looking heroines are from Bengal. Kajol is a Bengali (her full name was Kajol Mukherjee, now post-marriage she's a Devgan). Others include Bipasha, Riya, Sushmita (who is also ex-Miss Universe). Also people like you raved over Rani in Kuch kuch hota hai and other similar films. Just because she's taken up role of a man, she doesn't become ugly. Yesteryear actresses like Sharmila Tagore ruled the industry for many years. Also Raakhee, Moushumi Chatterjee. Also you need not be always great looking to create an impact in acting industry. Konkona has proved that.

Its hard for non filmi people to get a chance in bollywood esp for men (no casting couch for men). Plus there is a preconceived notion of beauty that dominates bollywood/India (tall and fair mainly fair is good, dark skin is bad that my friend is rasicm) Talent does not matter much that's why you had stars like Aditya Pancholi

Why should we be talking about Bengali heroes when this article is about Rani's next film? Also, why only are you targeting Bengali heroes. I think the current Bollywood brigade doesn't have heroes from any other place, leave alone Bengal. All actors are either Khans or Kapoors and maybe an occasional Roshan - that's it. Reat are all yesteryear actor's sons, cousins and nephews.
