Just watch the photograph of Sonakshi Sinha.
Reena Roy's daughter resembles her with Sonakshi Sinha.
What a miracle of Nature ?
They just look like double role.

Well-built heroine
by jatak on Jun 02, 2009 04:07 PM  | Hide replies

Just look at her picture with Esha Deol. She made her look small. She is much taller and way too stronger than Esha deol. She will have a distinct build-advantage over other heroines. Hopefully salman catches up with her height

In Bollywood it doesn't matter how short or tall the hero is. The director makes them appear perfect on screen..See Govinda and Salman Khan opp Sushmita in 'Kyunki Main Jhoot Naheen Bolta' and 'Biwi no 1' respectively. SRK opp Deepika and Anushka in OSO and RNBDJ.

A celebrity in the making

If Karishma & Kareena can succeed in the film industry, why not a talented person like Sonakshi. Hey, Give her a chance.

I have my own doubts about her talent. It is too early to say. We have seen how Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna, daughters of two giants - Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, couldn't be very successful and didn't shine. Abhishek Bachchan is not a patch on Amitabh Bachchan. Esha Deol is a fraction of Hema Malini. Tusshar Kapoor is nowhere near his good looking father. There are so many instances. Besides, Shatrughan Sinha's looks and talents have both been a matter of debate.

Sonakshi Sinha is better suited for television
by anushka on Jun 02, 2009 03:56 PM  | Hide replies

Sonakshi Sinha is a nice looking girl, no doubt but she doesn't seem to have the charisma of a Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor or Anushka Sharma. She has a rather non-descript personality. Sonakshi reminds one of the girls who play the lead roles in Ekta Kapoor's soaps. Sonakshi should try to make in on TV instead of films. I'm sure she can be successful there like Smriti Irani, Shweta Tiwari and so many others. I'm glad she's coming into showbusiness, nevertheless. I wish her luck.

But she is tall and powerfully built than many indian heroines. She will have lot of energy compared to them, when it comes to delivering a power-packed performance.

Yes. She is certainly taller than some other actresses although Deepika Padukone Anushka Sharma, the two I mentioned are certainly taller. She is also 'powerfully built' as you say but those sort of actresses are better suited for South films (For instance Rambha) or for television (Such as Smriti Irani).

I agree partly that there are taller actresses. But height and build makes a big difference in confidence too! For example Sridevi and Rekha were successful in the north due to their height and build advantage. The way she would carry herself would be very different when she is relatively well-built. As such a survey reveals that females who have an above-average height in their 10th class, are more confident than others.

As far as Bollywood is considered, the actress at the top of the list has never been unusually tall..Madhubala, Vyjanthimala, Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri, Karisma have all been 5'6' or less. Sridevi is 5'6'' while Aishwarya is 5'7''. The leggy ones like Sushmita (5'9'') or earlier Zeenat Aman have never really been at the top. This is because the average male in India is 5'5'' and men want their women to be shorter than them. That's why height is a disadvantage. Otherwise Yukta Mookhey and Ruby Bhatia would be superstars! Samjhe!! :)

But is'nt she the only actress who stands to the height of amitabh with a strong build. Other would be unfit to occupy considerable screen space. Tabu has always been credited with a good screen prescence, thanks to her frame and height !

Still, were they not tall for their generation. And we have to put the build in perspective. For example Lara Dutta is a tall actress, who does'nt look that tall because of her build. Even Tabu is a strong lady with a nice height. infact, that was one of the reasons why Tabu is so popular. Not height alone but height along with a good build matters!

If you think Tabu is 'popular' you should spend some more time reading about Bollywood. She hasn't had any respectable work for a long time barring the occasional 'Cheeni Kum' with an over-the-hill Amitabh.
